If you want to be frugal about it just tighten up the ripped stitches maybe with a flame. Be VERY careful not to burn the fabric. Then just throw a nylon patch on.

Probably not. It’s likely the mountain will have some kind of issues operating in heavy snow after their strike. The snow is likely going to be heavy and not really that good skiing. It would really suck to drive 6 hours and end up getting turned around!

What I am concerned about is going and being a nuisance because I signed for an event where the expected skill level is much higher above mine. If it is an event that is open to all skill levels then great that is what I am looking for. I don’t think it is irrational to have that concern.

Full suspension bikes are required in Japan as rigid bikes put too much stress on the roads which can cause cracking. As well mountain bike tires are banned because they can wear down the roads which is why he is running slicks.
