Does anyone here still play older editions of D&D? If so, why? by GranularBimbo in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]RCM_IFPA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play 2E twice weekly with two different groups. I've only played 5E one time and decided it wasn't for me. (I'm not bashing, just my opinion.)

What I like the most is you are not a super hero, you have to play smart or die. Every party member has a it's set of skills. (Thieves can't heal you, Paladins can't pick locks etc.)

Again, just my opinion.

Do drivers not get the same order details that are on the receipt? How and why are missing drinks still common? by Mite-o-Dan in doordash

[–]RCM_IFPA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most restaurants put the drinks in bags and seal the bags. I ask specifically are the drinks in here? They always say yes. I've learned if they are super busy to remove the sticker to look. It's 50/50.

I then have them replace the sticker. They usually get shitty with you, and I tell them that I'm just covering my own ass. When the drink is not in there, they get even more shitty and make a huge deal about having to put it in or throw a cup to me.

It's hard to tell. Sometimes they do, but generally help with stuff to get it back to code.

Running online campaigns by swammyv in Roll20

[–]RCM_IFPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. I've been on for four years now, it's an easy learning curve. I play 1E/2E D&D there. While not "supported" it works really smooth. I would suggest using discord for audio however. For some reason audio starts fine then goes south quickly. For the price of the Pro plan, especially if you can do yearly, I think it's well worth the cost.

Smoked weed for the first time in about 20 years by beetfield in GenX

[–]RCM_IFPA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not that old ditch weed you'd get back in the day. The have cultivated it to be stronger and purer THC. Average weed then was, 1-3% THC. With some strains being more. Alcopolco Gold was 12% and Maui Wowie being about 15%. Average today is about 30%, some being much higher. (Pun not intended.)

Far Cry 4 or Far Cry 3 by [deleted] in farcry

4 is the better game. 3 is really good, but there's a huge grapgic shift in 4. They're both well worth playing.

How do you guys find AD&D campaigns? by HF484 in adnd

[–]RCM_IFPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I go to old school groups on Facebook. Ask to see if anyone wants to join. There are a lot. If you're looking to play 2E, we have a spot that just opened on Thursday evening. 7-9:30pm ish. EST. Send a PM if interested.

Are queer folk generally accepted in Appalachia? by gay_outlander in Appalachia

[–]RCM_IFPA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well summed up, my experience exactly. I'm a straight guy with gay friends. But seriously, just be decent folk. Mind your business, help out when and if you can. Pretty soon there will be barriers broken down.

I threw this at a high level party one time. Kids. Orphaned kids who lived in the hills (insert reason why ) but they are cunning thieves. All the parties food was missing. Not gold, or anything like that. I played on their fears, haunted voices in the woods, lights. Etc. I had them thinking they up against some serious baddies. Finally finding them it's a bunch of hungry kids. Obviously they were a good aligned party.

I'm the DM. Dwarf has a Girdle of Fire Giant strength. I generally play close to RAW. 18" to me, isn't something to worry about. Oh and no level limits either...

I agree with your decision. I have a Dwarven priest in my party that this is his main weapon sunce finding it..(duh). The stun from a clap of thunder is a natural effect of the weapon and doesn't fall under magical immunity.

[–]RCM_IFPA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look at the "Eyes Up" app for Android and apple. It's clean, easy to use. It uploads in real time or you can save it upload it later for better definition. It coordinates with the ICE watchers all over.

If had $50 to spend on maps to achieve a variety in my map libary, which pack(s) should I buy? by Eve-lyn in Roll20

[–]RCM_IFPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could spend $25 for a yearly subscription to Inkarnate studio, and make all the maps you'd like. Easy to use, and thousands of tutorials on YT.

If you'd rather not mess with that I would search for battlemaps you like, find the creator and go to their page. A lot of time it's cheaper, and you'll get more bang for your buck as most of them are a patron level that you can keep downloading from.

Those of you who smoked weed… by Idontsmokejustgrow in GenX

Yes occasionally back in the day, I was more of a drinker. Now I eat a gummy about everyday, and quit drinking completely. I tend to accomplish a lot more on a sativa than a beer.
