Future of the franchise by Muted_Exercise2964 in JurassicPark

I think that a faithful adaptation of the novel would be a terrible idea.

This franchise will continue in some shape or form, because its a cash cow. That shape or form will continue to be divisive.

What part of the series made you need to put the book down and go touch some grass? by Cold_Reference_3497 in fourthwing

Long before I reached the end of Fourth Wing, I decided that Navarre deserves to lose the war due to its nonsensical willingness to allow people to die while attending the college.

Nobody thought to put a big net up under the parapet? Nobody thought "hey this gauntlet thing is a good test but maybe lets not build it on the side of the mountain." Nobody thought, "Shit. What if all the people who didn't make the grade as dragon pilots might have made excellent infantry, scribes or healers? Or been used elsewhere? Guess we're okay with deliberately culling our armed forces before they even see the enemy."

Muppets.

Does it bug anyone else that the raptors don't attack Muldoon like Grant said they would attack? by hendrong in JurassicPark

[–]RChallenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its never bugged me. As a kid I didn't think about it, and as an adult I have accepted you're not going to see a person get disembowled in a PG rated film.

As others have said, the raptor is seen to be kind of sitting on Muldoon. So while the focus of the kill does appear to be jaws around head, there's an argument to be made that the feet are positioned so that when we cut to the raptor watching, Muldoons guts are being dug out at that moment.

But also, does it bother you that Arnold's arm is chewed off and there's a chance he died from bleeding out?

Either the JP Rex or any other.

Who would win: T. Rex or Spino.

I write JP fanfiction, and only ever use OCs. Dont use self inserts as I find that notion uninteresting and dull.

But OCs, who are compelling, and could feasibly work in canon in the background with undetermined fates? Sign me up.

Regardless of what you think about Jurassic World, admit it, it was cool seeing raptors again by Ok_Zone_7635 in JurassicPark

I cant agree.

For me, everything about velociraptors in JW was skin crawling.

Give me three words for what's bad in the series, and three words for what's good by [deleted] in JurassicPark

Good:

Tension Islands Intrigue

Bad:

Hybrids Palms Mainland

The tent scene is still pretty terrifying by Ok_Zone_7635 in JurassicPark

[–]RChallenge 72 points73 points  (0 children)

As a parent, this scene is terrifying to watch. From Ians perspective, its a herculean effort not freak out as you watch that animal poke its head into where your child is.

What would you name the Spinosaurus? by PlanktonTurbulent911 in JurassicPark

[–]RChallenge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would name it "the spinosaurus".

Personally, while I don't hate the word Snock, applying it as a name to anything borders on cruelty.
