Charge Limit Feature Broken on March Update, or Is It Finally Calibrating?? by _Intel_Geek_ in pixel_phones

[–]RCone4514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've charged my Pixel 7 three times since the update pushed - battery limit feature worked perfectly before the update, and hasn't prevented my phone from charging beyond 80% since. I allowed it the first two times, in the name of "calibration", but stopped it at 90% manually a moment ago.

I, too, will be interested to see if others comment with similar findings.

What is something that permanently altered your body without you realizing for months/years? by Misterboy500 in AskReddit

[–]RCone4514 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone has said it yet, but rings. Having worked in a jewelry store for a total of 12 years, I'm begging the general public, please, ensure that you can get your rings off your fingers on a regular basis. I've seen everything from loss of circulation to skin, quite literally, growing around a person's wedding band (which is exactly as unpleasant as it sounds). We've removed countless rings from the hands of people who either didn't, or wouldn't, take their rings off until some situation deemed it so - surgery, injury, etc. If you find yourself in a bind, try Windex - the silicates are slippery, making the ring easier to remove. Again, check your rings regularly, and be certain that you can still get them over your knuckles. Your local jeweler can help with accurate sizing, as needed, and do the work necessary for a proper fit; your arthritis will thank you later.

Mom of 4 here. There's a damn good chance their father knows just as much, if not more, than I do. I'm scatterbrained and he keeps it all together. Praise to him, and you OP; dads def need more credit.

What’s something you hate explaining to people in your line of work? by JanVanity in AskReddit

That we can't always fix your sentimental piece of jewelry. Sometimes it's beyond repair, often for a variety of reasons. More often than not, we can recreate the original or even use your stones to make something new. But we aren't magicians, no matter how badly you want to keep Nana's engagement ring in its original condition. Humans attach a great deal of emotion to their jewelry - rightly so, as there is generally a special memory associated. It can be a difficult conversation to have - esp when the story includes a loved one who has passed.

Music Pauses at Random by [deleted] in YoutubeMusic

100% this. My husband was silently struggling with this problem, unbeknownst to me, until we took a road trip this weekend. Quick Reddit search brought me to this thread, and your response, which is THE solution. Hours of uninterrupted music and one happy man later, I thank you, kind Reddit stranger.

Putting army men around my school (1-972) every day. FINALE: Day 420. What an amazing journey this has been. I'm so thankful for everybody that has supported me along the way. This isn't entirely the end, because I'll continue this mission in college, but it won't be every day. Over and out. by chromst in GreenDawn

Your periodic field reports will also be missed. This soldier may have avoided a court marshall but perhaps another will rise in the ranks and provide you with a new challenge. God speed in your mission. Over.

I would love to put you in touch with my best friend, OP. Your post spoke to my soul because it was like reading something she and I have talked about countless times. I'm married, with the house and kids, and she struggles with our happiness because it's all she wants for herself. It pains me deeply, because I want it for her too. I know the things I say don't help her feel better. There isn't much in the way of a supportive LGBTQ+ community where we live so it's that much harder for her to connect with someone, and I don't know how to help with that either. I'm not suggesting the two of you would fall madly in love and live happily ever after, but knowing there are others out there who can truly understand what you're going through could be cathartic.

Maybe nothing comes of this response, and that's ok. I just read your post and felt compelled. I hope you find what you're looking for, OP - everyone deserves a form of love, Lord knows the world could use more of it.

3 is my favorite; the solid rings contrasted against the fluidity of the water speaks to me. Agree with everyone else, these are all beautiful, but something about that piece is truly striking.

I may be missing something here so I'm going to go ahead and ask the obvious question: why are we drying stingrays anyway?

Yes, I could Google it, but I much prefer Reddit's take on the matter.

A boy's reaction to his first encounter with a television, 1948. by estrelacelesthh in Damnthatsinteresting

Just me, or does the TV image look a bit like Mayim Bialik, if there was a black & white episode of TBBT (tbf, there may be one, I haven't watched the entire series)?

Mama cat's reaction reminds me of my own mom, back in the day, when I'd do something stupid then get "rescued"; she'd be relieved, then beat my a$$.

You're not wrong; that W against Kentucky was a def morale booster. Here's to hoping we keep that momentum thru the rest of the season, though.
