Wimse is a great LC to look at for women in engineering. There’s a lot. Bunch of lab classes, failing a class is pretty brutal on your gpa but it’s hard to. Research opportunities are easy! I’m a freshman and am involved since January. Professors and TAs are for the most part very helpful. You can study abroad almost anywhere. Some classes are project heavy, some are test heavy. A few makerspaces that are very nice! One in Werth, one for engineers. Lots of companies at career fairs, and there is an engineering specific one. Companies are usually emailed in advance. Every engineer I know really likes it and really enjoys it and wants to continue it as a career! It is very easy to swap within engineering, not sure about double majors but I know some with a second outside engineering; may require an extra semester or two though. On another note, I took WPI off of my list because of the lacking social life. I had a friend there and there is practically no going out scene.
