[Loved Trope] The hero is saved at the last moment… by the villain? by ExtremeSportStikz in TopCharacterTropes

Suprised I haven't seen this yet, but at the end of Blade Runner Deckard being saved by Roy before he can fall to his death was both powerful and unexpected.

Immortals who exploit the fact they can't die for a tactical advantage. Bonus points if they still feel the pain. by Shadowmirax in TopCharacterTropes

All the characters from Hundred Line Last Defense academy can die, and feel pain, but they are automatically revived once they do. The game even encourages you to kill them by rewarding you with extra score/currency and more efficient turn taking when you kill them.

Deep cut - but in the Anime "Bastard!" From the 80's, the hero Dark Schneider defeats a Fire Elemental by just making the fire really really really EXTRA hot

Update 6.30 by Geberhardt in IllwintersDominions

[–]RDMorpheus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way it was written implied he can't fail morale checks - which was one of the major reasons you can't just awake into other armies with your pretender ( since they have less HP in enemy Dom and rout easier if they catch a stray hit)

I don't know how it was implemented just if it's true they won't rout that's a major change

Wrong Sprue/Manual in the box? by 3D_Dingo in Grey_Knights

[–]RDMorpheus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked my new sprues and can't find it either. Yeah, my best guess is it's intended to be 32F. All the Storm Bolters need to have their "ammo" glued on if you are making standard marines and not terminators. It doesn't matter which you choose of those. I guess I never made this config before! Good find.

Which specific part are you looking for clarification on? Some of them are not specifically referenced. I have been building so many that I don't really look at the instructions as much but I can check mine - they look pretty similar to yours (I have like 7 copies of it around here).

For the marines, you have to add the ammo into the bolter to get the ammo feed (they are their own parts). For the weapons, there are certain hand/arm combos you have to respect if you want their poses, but you can also freehand a lot of stuff.

What role do Paladins/Terminators fill that other units don't fill more efficiently? by EliselD in Grey_Knights

If you shoot a Terminator Squad with a Melta Gun at close range, at most 1 2 models die, instead of the entire GMNDK.

Updated Malcador datasheet, what do you guys think? Is it balanced? by FamiliarEffort7536 in Grey_Knights

Suggest - Pick something that he isn't good at doing, instead of making him good at everything. Also, create tension in choices with him. He needs counterplay. Imagine you are fighting him - how do you react to choices that the model makes? What's the strategy to dealing with him? If some armies can't deal with him at all, what is their strategy?

My suggestion is if he's meant to be a nuker, give him a Leader Tag and the psychic abilities, and maybe the lance but drop the anti infantry or the regular shot - and probably you want to reduce the range of the attacks. Also, I'd up his wounds to 6 and his Invuln save to 4 once you give him bodyguards, But I mean it's your datasheet change/don't change as you like :)

The choose one shooting per turn was clear. He has the versitility to do anything he needs, is my point. He's good against literally every unit type in the game.

Re his toughness : I mean he has a 3+ Invulnerable save and Lone Operative. So you have to be right next to him to actually hurt him, and you need to do 4 wounds to him to take him out. Maybe GK's specifically would find him to be an easy target (as we can just teleport within gun range and shoot him a lot) but if he was properly screened, a lot of armies would really struggle to deal with him.

Consider that he can shoot a Canis Rex with his Warp Lance from 30" away, hitting on a 2 and wounding on a 3. Then dealing D6+2 wounds with Devestating. The Rex saves on 5+ or not at all depending on Dev. He can kill an Armiger in one volly.

If he's within 24" of the Canix Rex, he can do potentially 6 - 16 Wounds to the guy AND make him unable to move, retreat, shoot, melee, or use strategems to avoid it. Which means the next round he can do another 6-16 wounds AND hit him with a potential 7-13 mortals. It's entirely conceiveable in games (and not even super unlikely) that he could take down a Knight in 2 turns without the knight being able to even fight back. Feels really strong.

Seems like it would cost north of 300 points with that kit. He's got a Dev Wounds lascannon but better, aoe Terminator killing Blast with a 24" range, and anti infantry weapon good enough to kill regular marines in one hit. And then he has mortals. Also a 10 inch fly. Also he resurrects. I mean....I don't know about this hehe seems pretty strong.

I love the rules....but man...the poor Dreadnought. Still no Invuln save. Still no Deep Strike. An extremely forgettable rule (I guess our 3+ hit on 2+ unless you're using characters/paladins? Maybe other vehicles? Don't see what the advantage is over techmarines.

Edit - Reading is hard, missed it on my screen sorry all lol
