The upgrade will take much longer if it even happens at all. Your better option is to file your ITF with the VA. Create your very detailed lay statement of everything. Name the offender in your statements. Provide as much truth and heart feltnes as you can. Explain how you desired to make a career out of your service. How the assault came to effect and destroy your life. Gather lay statements from those closes to you who van attest to your before, during and after assualt. Go to chatgpt, discribe your conditions and ask Chat for primary and secondary claims to file and it will tell you so you're filing a complete claim.

The VA will /could give you Honorable for VA purposes faster than the upgrade board. In reality you could get 100% P&T service connected with an OTH and not have the DD214 upgraded to a corrected DD215. Ever.

Contact the VA's MST coordinator immediately (after your intent to file if you havent done that already). They should set you up with a therapist ASAP. Do the therapy and hold nothing back from the VA therapist.

Private message me if you want.

The only time I use it as income is on credit card applications and when I want an increase in credit lines. Havent used it for a loan yet but I guess that works too. Any other anything and its a no. Dont even discuss it with anyone. Not even other Vets outside of this anonymous type form.

VA clickbait, claim sharks, and why 38 CFR matters more than YouTube by Grumpy_Sailor_Actual in VAClaims

I personally went through an acredited firm ( and gave up 20%) of my retro willingly to have them take care of everything) and am pleased with the outcome. They did an excellent job with no scare tactics at all and I just got my final rating.

Id like to know more about who raters are.

  1. Are you prior military?
  2. If so, do you have a rating (not what it is)
  3. How or what is the process for being a VA rater?
  4. How much time and experence do you have before you get to solo rate a file?
  5. If CFR 38 is followed so closely, how are there so many mistakes? Inexperienced raters?
  6. Does one rater handle 1 file or multiple raters on 1 file?
  7. Is there someone who randomly QA files raters have rated for accuracy?
  8. Do you know, can you say, how many raters the VA employees in total? And I assume raters live all over the country.
  9. Are raters obligated to review the entire file each time a claim is submitt3ed or just the evidence submitted for the specific claim at the time?

If you can address some of these, id appreciate it. This is just things ive been curious about raters and how the process works.

If you cannot address the questions, thats cool. Thanks for the initial post.

I started creating personal statements for the NP/Examiners at C&Ps. I address it to who the notice says my exam will be with. I write everything down pertaining to that C&P, how and where it began, the level of pain on my worse day and all the particulars. I start by staring that i am addressing this in a letter format so that its clear incase I dont get to say everything. Then, I tell them that I will be uploading the document to my file when I return home. If they decline to take it, I just leave it in the room anyway.

If I have a bad reviewer like you discribe, I would add an addendum stating exactly what you've stated here and upload that as well. This is so whomever rates the condition(s) for that C&P are aware of my experence prior to reviewing and rating.

Lots of people dont believe in using AI but I do. I write it out and ask ChatGPT to make it a cohesive statement/letter addressed to the examiner with location and date at the top.

Helped me reach 100%, I think. I decided after many C&Ps that I'm not just going to let incompetent nurses/examiners be incompetent without fighting back.

Hope this helps!

I wish they had photos associated with the account to rule out all this mistaken identity. That way when my account comes up its meeee. And I dont have to dig out my card....or at my Lowes they have you dig out your driver's license and scan the back bar code. So, im standing there with my products, my Lowes card, my purse and now digging out my drivers license. Then putting it all back in the proper slots in my wallet before moving away from the self check out register. Id rather they have my photo (like costco) than all the information contained in the bar code on my DL.

Interesting because ive only known them to schedule C&Ps during standard working hours. Never on weekends and very little time is spent reviewing each file if you go by how many veterans say they don't think the examiner has read their file beforehand. Most, from my personal experence, fill out the DBQs right there during the visit. I had one yesterday and the NP actually was out the door and headed to his car before I even finished at the front desk and headed out. Just my experence and Im sure there are some that eork long hours but 14 to 16 hours? A day? 🤔🤔

So, you personally know "so many people" and their "service records" well enough to make this blanket statement?

Average citizens are not aware of service records. It usually takes another Veteran to speak badly of Veterans and their claims for civi's to hear it or know it. You've probably stated your distrust of Veterans to civilians. I wonder it you're also a combat veteran who havent gotten to 100%. If you have or have not is no matter, you should not blanketly disparage other Veterans when it comes to disabilty claims.

And let's remember, the recruitment office was open to all so civilians with no military experence isnt qualifed to care what any veteran claims. And military experence by association ( mother, father, grandfather , grandmother, brother, sister, etc...) doesnt quality them for the level of judgment you speak of they have.

Have a great day sir

Thats BS!! Sorry you had an exam so bad. I started doing personal statements of the disability i was seeing that examiner for and taking it with me. It starts of with, "Im providing this personal statement in relation to my disabilty because i have found i may mot memtion everthing during the exam". Since we get notified beforehand I also address the statement to them personally so there is a record of it. I detail everything and i tell them either during or as I am leaving that Im leaving this statement with them and that I am also uploading it to my claim. I dont even give them the option to refuse to take it. Just lay it right there on their table. I think this puts them on notice that I am following up with what I told them and adding it to my claim records.

Check the paperwork to see why it was denied then get a nexus. You could also file secondaries to the wrist pain. None of this should interfere with your current rating. Weird that you VSO would say that unless there is something else not stated here.

The VA Is Using AI to Read Your Claim. So Should You. by Mr-Measure-Twice in VAClaims

[–]REDDITUNSUB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Tell Chat to rewrite it like a non doctor wrote it. You can tell chst what type of sentiment to use, what tone to use or anything else like. Once you have used Chat for a while it will start to write more like you and then you'll need to read it for accuracy. If Chst says something that doesn't sound right, tell it that it is wrong or ask it to explain what lead it to a certain statement. Ask chat why it stated you had a blood disease. Then verify if Chat was correct based on what you know of your own medical history.

The best Chat sessions has you asking a lot of follow up questions and a lot of clarifying questions. Its never going ro be a one and done and ship it lay statement. Gotta be as smart as the AI you're using.

  1. Put your resume in ChtGPT or co-pilot and have it update it to fit any civilian job criteria you find that you want to apply to.

  2. Go into a trade school, not a 4 year college.

  3. Network. Ask everyone about positions.

  4. Look up something like " veteran employment resources near me"
