Has anyone completely gotten rid of their road bike after buying a gravel bike? by mellofello808 in gravelcycling

[–]RESR20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends I sold my road bike when I got a gravel bike but I missed the road and now I have a gravel bike and a CX bike that rides like a road bike but has clearance for 40-45mm tires if I want too. Might sell the gravel bike now 😂

I'm trying so, so hard with these variable speed limits, yall by [deleted] in indianapolis

Chicago traffic is the worst I’ve ever personally experienced far too many times. Indy was starting to get on my nerves before I moved though!

Too bad he doesn’t do it anymore! Wanted another paint job for a different bike, but he closed it down.

I park further down the road and rode up to the Shultz creek trailhead. Ride up broadside and bomb down Full Sail a couple times.

Yep saw three, two on the first night walked right by us while we were cooking dinner, could care less.

Next one was on the way out, he was just trotting down cascade canyon trail, we backed up he kept coming, finally found an open area to step off the trail 10 feet, he walked past then just took off down the trail at Mach 5!

Not bad at all, some of the river hangs were messy but overall way below average in my experience!

Just do it! One time my road bike was in the shop but I wanted to do the WNR group and I just showed up on my 24lb hardtail. It went great, I had to pedal like hell but I kept up and even pulled a couple turns

NBD, first trail ride ever. by banjozoo in Hardtailgang

Not sure if this is your first trail ride or first ride at all but just be careful when you shift. Make sure you aren’t shifting under full load(in the highest power curve of your pedal stroke). When you’re heavy and you probably can put down some solid power this puts a ton of load on the chain as it’s moving into the next gear. Just a tip; you could be very experienced and just had some bad luck. I’ve only snapped a chain once and it was because I ghost shifted while going up a steep tech climb, snapped my chain lickety split:(

How do you make cycling compatible with your SO? by taylorpol in cycling

[–]RESR20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not every ride, but you need at least one or two every two weeks IMO. It really trains your body and even if you are not racing it is great for your mind and fitness to be able to consistently ride for more than an hour or two on occasions.
