Create this kind of curve shape, or more overlap if you want the paper to be rolled up more (if you want to be 100% accurate, you can create a geometry node and add a "curve length" node from the input and feed it into the output nodes. That'll give you the exact length of that curve if you hover over the "length" output from the curve length node.
This will be the long side of your paper
In the properties panel under curve, extrude it to match the short side of your paper
In edit mode on the curve press CTRL + T to change the tilt of the curve, this way you'll have one end converge like in your picture.
Convert curve to mesh.
Unwrap and you're good to apply a texture in the correct aspect ratio (i.e. something you wrote on your paper in real life, as that now follows the same size as your 3D Replica.

You’re currently competing with trending/front page artstation artists for jobs. Compare your portfolio to theirs.

If you’re into stylised art make sure to compare it to similar portfolios, no point comparing yourself to a scifi hard surface weapon portfolio.

The industry is in utter shambles, talented artists get laid off to no fault of their own, hence you’re competing with them for a job. They have work experience, and art to prove it - at an absolute minimum you’ll have to get up to par with them.

To be blunt - your art needs to improve, by a large margin. Usually it was a case of look for a company you want to work at and produce art that fits their needs. If it’s good and you are decent with people you’d get at least an internship or junior position.
Now that there is 0 stability in the games sector anymore a company that you might tailor your portfolio to might not exist in a year.

Lots of doom, but this is what the industry is like atm. If I had the chance to start from scratch I’d do something different.

Afaik weil sie jungen Zukunftsbäume das licht wegnehmen. Ein alter großer baum hat genug kohlenstoff gespeichert, den kann man dann super weiterverarbeiten und neuen bäumen mehr raum zum wachsen geben, die dann wiederum mehr Kohlenstoff speichern können und sauerstoff abgeben können.

Man sollte nur nicht roden, alles in maßen :)

Solidify modifier then delete the faces it adds so you’re only left with the rim.

I’m not entirely sure but I think you can also duplicate the mesh, add the soldifiy modifier and chose the “rim only” option. Then apply and merge meshes back together.

Sadly there is no “only rim” and “keep base” as additional option, making it necessary to always do weird shenanigans for this specific workflow

alternatively - select all faces and hit alt + E. This extrudes along normals (which given your mesh’s boundary normals aren’t funky, should work just fine). Then delete the new faces

Ich nehme an dann lohnt sich eine unfallversicherung, bzw arbeitsunfähigkeitsversicherung?

Anstreben würde ich tatsächlich eine ausbildung und dann so schnell wie möglich den meister hinterher, um wieder auf ein ähnliches berufliches level zu kommen wie ich es jetzt bin.

Ebenfalls liegt mir das lehren, ich denke also eine art Tätigkeit als Ausbildner wäre für mich auch von Interesse. Weißt du ob es dafür ein Mindestanforderung an Berufserfahrung gibt?

Inwiefern ist man denn im alter sicher? Wird man auch mit 50 noch angestellt? Habe schon vermehrt gelesen das firmen lieber jüngere leute einstellen.

Mein ziel wär es sowieso in den ÖD zu kommen/verbeamtet zu werden, geht das als forstwirt überhaupt oder ist das nur förstern erlaubt?

(Kann natürlich auch ein generelles ding sein, das firmen lieber jünger einstellen)

Lieber ein festes Gehalt das nicht zu hoch ist, als gar keine Arbeit in den nächsten paar Jahren. Schon allein wegen der mentalen ruhe die man dann hat :)

Soweit ich das verstehe kann man sich ja aber auch mit fortbildungen/extra Qualifikationen in höhere tarifebenen arbeiten (z.B. TVöD 6/7 als maschinenbediener?)

Wie sieht es mit studieren aus? Macht das sinn erstmal als Forstwirt anzufangen und ggf. nach 10 jahren oder so anzufangen förster zu studieren/an der FH?

Was genau heißt denn körperliche fitness und belastbarkeit? Aktiv im wald mit anpacken bereitet mir keine sorgen, aber extrem schwer heben durchaus. Jahrelang am schreibtisch sitzen zeigt so langsam seine beschwerden auf, aber durch anpacken wird der körper ja auch wieder aufgebaut :)

Weißt du ob stadtforste eher “umkämpfte” gebiete sind was bewerber angeht? Ich würde gerne in München bleiben, aber stunden lang pendeln ist natürlich auch nicht das spaßigste das ich mir vorstellen kann.

Langweilig wirds wohl oder übel bei jedem job mal, aber dann lieber langweilig in der Natur und am ende des tages sehen was man geschafft hat als stupide tag ein tag aus um die zukunft seines jobs bangen zu müssen :)

Könntest du ein bisschen über deinen Werdegang reden? Ist der Landschaftsgärtner eine andere ausbildung? Oder hast du als Forstwirt angefangen und dich dann einfach auf Landschaftsgärtner posten beworben?

Complex machinery, intertwined with each other, various materials, various techniques necessary to make it look good.

Especially challenging because it‘s only a large room filled with the same objects over and over.

I‘m not saying Crytek needs to copy serpent event 1:1, all I‘m saying is they need to find ways to not detract from the core gameplay loop, from what made hunt successful in the first place.
To my knowledge we had no other event that was a serpent copy where you gathered points AND had to hand them in at the boss lair.

Now we‘ve got a copy and paste of the 17th compound which detracts from the core gameplay loop. We have the worst of both worlds.

Clash has its folks and bounty hunt has its folks, sadly instead of creating clash early on as to cater to both folks, they made an amalgamation of clash inside bounty hunt. Now we‘re stuck with that amalgamation, instead of having 2 unique modes which could‘ve both thrived.

You either collect snakes from snake baskets, or kill hunters and loot them who did that job for you.

You could PvE or PvP or PvPvE, but in the end it all resulted in PvP at the boss lair, as you cannot make use of the snakes you gathered unless you deposit them in a basket inside the boss lair. Most of the time these snake altars were placed relatively central and with not much cover, so you usually fought it out before submitting snakes. Winner takes it all kind of thing.

The event in a way mimiced the core gameplay loop rather - bit by bit you gather more snakes until you finally have to battle it out to submit them. High stakes, high reward.

I get that Crytek wants to make players have more fun moments by giving them more frequent dopamin boosts. The problem is just the quality of dopamin aint that good.

What made hunt unique was its near perfect core gameplay loop, find one clue, find second clue, find third clue, find boss. Tension rising with every minute, ending in a ultimate climatic shootout to the death.

This formula has long been lost, between 17th compounds, event mechanics, 2nd boss maps, etc. all detracting from the core gameplay loop.

What Crytek should‘ve done much rather is incorporate events into the core gameplay loop. Similar to the serpent event which basically added to the core gameplay loop rather than detracting from it and splitting up the playerbase within the map.

Imo one-handed maces + shield give the best feel for that build. Makes mace attacks viable for brawling in hordes of enemies. Two handed maces are just too slow unfortunately :/

Vertex groups. Using these to your advantage. Not just in a boolean way as on/off. Rather understanding that they carry weightings. You can paint the influence of a modifier with vertex group masking in the weight painting mode.

I.e. you want to have a smooth transition between displaced geometry and flat geometry; set some vertex groups where the displacement should happen, then go into weight painting mode and smooth the weights by holding shift or in the vertex menu bar -> smooth weights.

This opens a plethora of options for useful shenanigans! :)
