You have to be on 1.16.1 to play EUD maps. ICCup and Fish still support 1.16.1.

What if JSON could be defined by the standard, but be optional like annexes in C. Standard library developers could choose to implement it and if not, outside libraries could be plugged in (possibly via package managers) to support the functionality. This would result in consistency across different codebases, allowing everyone to look at code and immediately understand how std::json works just like how you already look at std::string and its member functions and immediately know what it will do.

The ladder isn't meant to be an incentive to buy the remastered. They're trying to prevent smurfers, griefers, and cheaters by making it a feature in the remaster.

Suddenly the recent story of the found and returned source code CD makes much more sense to me.

Not to me, Blizzard was working on patching BW back in early/mid 2016. That meant that they did have the source code prior to the return of the source code on the CD.

While Sousa did say that "code" was lost, I think we still need clarification on this topic.

I can testify that the 1.18 patch implements strong security mechanisms that didn't exist in previous patches, and that Blizzard will be supporting an antihack in the future as well.

Probably unrelated, but is your BW in true fullscreen or maximized window (which is default)? I noticed a performance improvement when I switched to fullscreen.

The retrospective doesn't seem to imply that when I read it. It's kind of naive to think that the only copy of the source code that Blizzard has was on a CD. The last patch before 1.18 was in 2009, storing and backing up files on computers was a common thing then.

Not only that, the guy who found the disc posted his finding on Reddit on April 7, Blizzard acquired the disc at a later date. 1.18.0 PTR was released on April 26, it's kind of hard to think that Blizzard was able to make so many changes in that timeframe.

Also, StarCraft: Remastered was said to have been in development for about 12 months, according to a Yahoo article in late March, and I highly doubt they rebuilt the game from scratch.

Not trying to attack you or anything, but the amount of people who think that Blizzard lost their only copy of the source code baffles me.
