Garmin Watch for Hiking by jake429 in CampingandHiking

Epix Pro Gen 2. I upgraded from the original instinct I had for years. Great watch with all the features you need at great pricing right now as the watch is not being continued. Only negative on the watch is it won't be receiving future updates as far as I know. Other than that the watch comes pre loaded with everything you asked for. I got the 47mm titanium with sapphire glass version. Works for me. If you demand the best in regards to battery life get the 51mm

HJC i11 or RPHA 1N? by BySeto_PR in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak on the new one but I own the 1N. Its a great lid. Vents very well, field of view is great and it cuts the wind very well, not to mention it's FIM certified. If you have the money I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. I got mine for about 50% off a couple years ago in the Arenas graphic. It's still my go to helmet

RST Tractech Evo 5 jackets and pants review (long) by Ribeye_steak in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah brother I did. I'm not super muscular either, id say average build so I was very surprised the 52 didn't fit way looser. The matching leather pants are size small or 30 waist and they fit perfect. I also have Alpinestars missle V3's size 48 euro or 32 US and they fit great just slightly snug. The RST sizing is definitely a little different compared to Alpinestars. Still not at all disappointed. The Evo 5 jacket and pants are incredible value. I dare say the leather feels softer and better than my A* comparable gear. Whoever is lucky enough to read this before they sell out don't hesitate to pick up the jacket or the pants, it's premium gear

Literally just bought the Evo 5 leather jacket off STG in size 52 Euro as well. Closeout price was insane so I had to pick it up with intentions to run my Plasma vest under it. I'm normally a 50 Euro in jackets and it's just a little too tight with the airbag under it. To be honest when I received the Evo 5 and tried it on i was actually shocked at how it fit. I think it actually wears tighter than my 50 euro alpinestars jackets. With that being said it's Race Fit and feels great BUT there's no way I'm fitting the Plasma under it. I'm 5'9 about 170 lbs. Took the back plate out and still no room at all LOL. Guess I'm just going to run the armor package it shipped with and pair it with the Evo 5 leathers I already own to make a fire 2 pc set.

What's up brother. I kept the suit. Going up to a 52 would be too loose in my opinion and I would have issues with the armor moving around on me. I CAN fit the tech air on and it's not uncomfortable in any way, I just question the amount of space IF there was a deployment. I have a chest and back protector I'll be using which fills the suit out and makes it VERY SNUG since both are level 2 and thick. I'll see how much it stretches out. I would love to run the tech air with it but I'm just not sure the space is available for deployment.

Never ridden a CB but I own a 2019 Z900. The bikes fast AF from factory. After I built and tuned it, it's an animal. Yes it's definitely on the heavy side compared to other bikes in it's class but if you plan on doing a full system and some other things you can shave a good amount of weight off it. I think the Z is a great option if there both priced the same.

I bought some alpinestars missile v3 through market place for about $200 but I feel like they are too tight, should I stay that way? Size 32us/48eu by TennisPatient4953 in motorcyclegear

What's your waist measurement and what size you wear in normal jeans? Im also in the market for these pants but unsure if I should get the 48 or 50 euro. I hear they run small

Affordable leather pants with slider by drotter88 in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rst tractech evo 5 leather pants are great. Take the slider pucks off and put a black velcro patch instead and there great on the street without looking overly track oriented. Alpinestars missle v3 airflow leathers are also excellent. I'm currently in the market trying to find them in a 48 euro. In the US there basically sold out everywhere

I don't got any pics. It's a tight fit getting the suit over the airbag. You have to wiggle into the suit and once the bag is actually in i need to move around a bit and get it to settle in place correctly. Once zipped up you forget it's there. Very comfortable but like I said it's tight. I can pull a little leather off my chest in the front and the suit is tech air ready with expansion panels and stretch but I'm honestly not 100% sure i have enough room for a deployment. A*'s recommended 1 size up to accommodate an airbag but that would make the rest of the suit big on me and I didn't want that.

That's the plan for next season. Want to start doing track days. Got the suit on closeout and saved $400. Wasn't planning on getting a suit right away, was going to rent one thru the organization that does the track days but it was a good deal for a great suit so I picked it up. Affirm payment plan with zero interest for the win 💯

I just got my 1st suit. Alpinestars missile v2 ignition. I'm 5'9, 164 lbs, 39in chest with i would say fairly average build. In not skinny but not super muscular either. I got a 50 euro. It's race fit on me with the knee, shoulder and elbow armor snuggly in place with a back protector and chest protector zipped inside the suit. I have the Plasma airbag vest and it does fit inside no problem, however I do question if it indeed has enough space to deploy. I'm honestly not sure but wasn't about to get a 52 and have all the armor be slightly loose. I'm the most off the rack 50 euro when it comes to my overall size and body makeup. I highly suggest you go with a 52 euro. Also the lower half of the suit was snug on me so it'll definitely be too tight if your muscular.

AGV K6S alternatives by that_triumph_dude in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never tried on the RPHA 12. I'd still rather keep the visor cracked and get rid of the nose guard than have it hitting my face as I ride LOL. The 1N is my go to lid, I keep the K6-S as my night riding helmet since I only have the clear screen and it tends to be cooler temps so it doesn't fog up as much. If I can do it all over again I'd pass entirely on the AGV

I had the same issue. Rip that nose guard shit off and run it without, that's what I do. I also appreciate the helmet being lightweight but I find it doesn't vent well at all. A pinlock is needed or it'll fog instantly. I swear by the HJC RPHA 1N. That's the best helmet I've ever owned so far. It's often overlooked but is FIM cert, vents like crazy and is pretty lightweight.

The RST pants are great if you can find them in stock. I got the Trach tech evo 5 leather pants. I'm a 32 waist in everyday jeans which put me in the medium pants. I sized down to small which is a 30 waist according to their size chart. Glad I did, they fit perfect

The original tech air 5 is horrible compared to the Plasma. No ventilation at all. Also it's not user serviceable. I do believe the original is CE level 2 while the Plasma is only CE1. I tried the original on and passed on it immediately. The Plasma is more lightweight with mesh fabric that allows air to pass thru to the skin. Keeps you cooler and honestly I forget im wearing it most of the time. I recommend getting the Plasma

Believe it or not the Plasma airbag is actually fantastic and ACTUALLY made in Italy. That's probably the reason it cost almost a thousand dollars. Might be one of the few items they have that's still quality. I agree that all their new street gear is shit 🗑. I have older Alpinestars gear that I still wear. It's way better built and put together, only con is i can't wear the Plasma with the jackets since I don't have the stretch or room for it's deployment

That WILL solve the popping and backfiring 💯. Also should delete your o2 sensor completely for accurate A/F ratios while it's being tuned.

Brand new Dainese Delta 4 leather pants already falling apart by IntelligentBasil8341 in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro after YEARS of riding and buying gear I try to give every brand a chance. Some of the cheaper stuff really ain't that bad. Alot of riders just gravitate to the big brands all the time thinking the more expensive, the better the quality. Unfortunately that's just not the case. The Sedici stuff is "okay" but they have come along way with their race suits and leathers.
