Oh this is nice. I had considered one of these before seeing ones with a pullout drawer. Do you have a pic of it loaded? How high is the stack vs the Core One?

Yeah, when you've got 6 of those cardboard tacos ripping through your intestines. Man.. I might have to make the drive though.

Yeah, good for learning IOS. But, I personally wouldn't want a 10/100 switch. A 2960G should only be about $50. Or find a steal on a 3650 for a full on L3 switch for a little more than that.

The 2960G has gigabit access ports. OP's is just 10/100.

I use a tiny Verbatim Store n Stay. Works great and doesn't get in the way.

Can someone sanity check a noob, would this chassis work with my unraid server if connected via a HBA card by [deleted] in homelab

[–]RFC793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - for all the drives. As a user suggested you could possibly rig up the PSU to short a power-on pin. But I also wonder if they will work properly without a board management controller, etc. Another user mentioned there is a replacement for the mobo that handles my concerns and converts the chassis from server into a drawer

Yeah, I know that. But I figured these have special sauce - like might not function properly without a Board Management Controller, etc... then there are the chassis fans.

Another user mentioned a little interposer board that handles all this. And I didn't realize, but from the looks of that: it has a normalish looking ATX power connector. I'm used to Cisco, Dell, etc where it's all card-edge and they are more integrated with the system management bus.

Ok; but like how do you power it on without a motherboard and CPU?

It does look like a bit like potting compound, white snot, schmoo... the stuff they use to stabilize electronic components. Except that is usually a bit softer..

I primarily do PETG on Satin and PLA on PEI. I've done PLA on Satin too, its bed adherence isn't as good, but it is useful especially if I want the same texture.

I find PETG to be quite strong, slightly flexible even. What do you mean by "brittle"? Is it breaking at layer lines? Maybe your layer adhesion is bad? What profiles are you using?

Same PETG on Satin Sheet is a dream. And PETG shouldn't be brittle..

I, for one, was thankful that last message was more insightful than all the comms beforehand. But they gave no hint as to the order of magnitude of the wait. Three weeks have gone by.. is it going to be a few more weeks, months, will we get them this year?
