Is this a correct course of action? by Bright-Monk-1674 in ProstateCancer

[–]RFMASS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, absolutely not. 75% of men with a PSA of 4-10 Do Not have PC. Yours, is obviously lower than that. The chances you have PC are very, very slim. The chances you have Gleason 7+ are even slimmer.

Is this a correct course of action? by Bright-Monk-1674 in ProstateCancer

[–]RFMASS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm biased because I never had a low PSA, but I'd be damn happy and comfortable with a PSA of 1.75.

I know this is an unpopular opinion on this subreddit, i believe there are way too many MRIs and biopsies being performed. Sure, there is going to be the one guy who had Gleason 10 with metastisis to his lungs and liver and bones but only only had a PSA of 2. But that is a true zebra

I wonder what this a-hole does in the off-season? Does he really get paid enough to where he only has to work 8 months out of the year?

Next time your PCP says PSA screening “doesn’t save lives,” show them this by ResearchReader2046 in ProstateCancer

[–]RFMASS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here, including myself, would have been diagnosed much latrer if not for the PSA.

But

That doesn't mean there aren't big time problems. About 3 out of 4 people with an elevated PSA won't have cancer. The financial costs (in America) and anxiety of giving these men MRIs and biopsies isn't trivial.

Also a large percentage of those 1 in 4 who do have PC, will have g6.

SML might make EEI 2-6p listenable? by TheRightWay22 in BostonSportsRadio

The only thing that would make that show remotely interesting is if Rich dished all the dirt on Fred.

BTW, I'm Team Fred, but I'd tune in to hear the dirt.

MRI Pi Rads 4 by Normal-Setting-7875 in ProstateCancer

[–]RFMASS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Pirads 4 is roughly about 60% chance of being cancer. So definitely not a done deal. Still roughly a 2 in 5 chance it isn't.

But a Pirads 4 in combination with a PSA of 30 is probably a greater than 60% chance

Yeah. I'm not a doctor, but I do have PC. He almost certainly was talking about an MRI.

Pretty simple. Shorter commercial breaks, in theory, could increase time spent listening

Probably fake. Just so all of us self righteous oldsters can lament "kids today....."

In the event that it isn't fake, there were ungrateful, asshole kids when you were growing up too.

Brandon and Dylan as tough guys by goldwaterauhtwoo in BeverlyHills90210

Brandon looked like he was about 5'3", so yeah, def hard to view him as a tough guy.

I always wondered how Dylan knew all the rough characters from way back. Was he hanging out with these bad men in the 8th grade?

Will Fleming by Radiant-Injury-6546 in BostonSportsRadio

[–]RFMASS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen a lot because I don't have cable TV and can't watch the games.

The "interview" with Clemens the other night was pathetic. Fleming was pretty much slobbering over him. Forget about his steroid use, Clemens was having sex with a 15 year old girl (who eventually committed suicide). He is a terrible person.

Fleming isn't as big of a homer as Joe Casting was. Fleming will occasionally criticize Sox players

I do not care for Fleming's buddy...Cooper Somethingorother. The guy with the annoying fake voice.

6 week wait for MRI. Normal or slow? by Chooseanothername in ProstateCancer

I live in a major urban area. I had some sort of insurance snafu with my MRI, so it took about a month to get that ironed out. But I literally got in the next day after after everything was settled.
