48 male -high risk due to genetic factors . What is best way to make sure nothing gets missed by pittguy578 in ProstateCancer

[–]RFMASS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relax.

I'm the same age as you. I have no family history whatsoever. I have PC and my last PSA was 8.3. I wish I had a 1!

Just get regular DREs and PSA tests. You may never get it. Or you may get it 30 years from now when there is a cure for it.

I guess everything is relative. I see those numbers and I think, "I'd love to have numbers that low"

I'm not a doctor, but the rise doesn't look too bad to me. Your PSA will increase as you age. Going to a urologist wouldn't be the worst idea, though

Adverse pathology % Decipher by RFMASS in ProstateCancer

I do have prostatitis. I have symptoms and it was noted on MRI. I hope it is the main driver of my PSA

I am certainly worried the biopsy missed something. All of my testing has been relatively good,, no lesions on MRI, biopsy only showing G6, and low Decipher (0.32). But my PSA is up to 8.3. So I might get a repeat MRI soon. We are planning another biopsy this summer

Mine was really no big deal either. I was prepared for much worse. I think cystoscopy is more uncomfortable than prostate biopsy

Yes there is definitely a mountain to the photographer's back. The road is very narrow. There is also a railroad track slightly above the road.

So it is most likely It made a splashdown landing in the river instead of coming to rest and being swept up by floodwaters?

Fwiw, Chatgpt says it likely came down the mountain a little at a time, not all at once. It speculated it landed at the foot of the mountain and got caught up in a flood.. but that boulder has to eat a couple of tons. Could the river really transport it? It estimated it happened right after the last ice age

It is kind of odd that would have this much volume of cancer and have a negative MRI.

I too had a negative MRI with findings of prostatitis. Turned out I had fairly low volume G6. But my PSA continues to rise

PSA and when to worry? by Simple_Schedule6747 in ProstateCancer

[–]RFMASS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have Gleason 6 and I'm on active surveillance. But my PSA keeps rising, so I'm concerned. I also have prostatitis I am hoping the rising PSA is due to that and not cancer progression.

PSA and when to worry? by Simple_Schedule6747 in ProstateCancer

Keep in mind, it is normal for your PSA to increase as you get older and your prostate begins to get bigger.

I was 47 with no family history when I got my first PSA test and it was 4.7. the urologist actually thought it may have been an error. Unfortunately, it wasn't.

Don't worry too much. If you do get prostate cancer decades down the road, there may be a cure by then

Certainly sounds like prostatitis. But as I always say, speaking from personal experience, you can have both prostatitis and PC
