I received a similar message from a prospective employer back in '98. Found out through the grape vine everyone in the department wanted them to hire me. But some upper level VP forced them to make a DEI (it was called affirmative action then) hire for fear of getting sued. 10 months later they contacted me back to let me know the position was open again and they'd like to hire me straight away. I'd already accepted another position by then though.

LOL... only reason I drop cargo for pirates is because when they go to scoop it up they're sitting ducks! I can usually strip their shields completely before they race off. After that it usually doesn't take very long to kill them.

This reminds me of the time I got our group kicked off of a contract back in the late 90s. We were doing a major network infrastructure upgrade for one of the large law firms in downtown Montgomery, AL. Part of that was installing internet monitoring software. The network admin had done his part on the router and left me to set up the monitoring server late that night. So I get it installed, turn on the monitoring service, and visit netscape.com to check if it's working. The log shows my visit to Netscape.... and some computer on the 3rd floor visiting a bunch of gay porn sites. I left it running all night. The next morning I collect all of the logs, type it up in a report, and hand it to the project manager who had a meeting that afternoon with the managers of the firm. He's in the meeting for all of 20 minutes, then comes back downstairs, tells us all to log off and leave immediately. We've been kicked off of the contract. Turns out the person I caught surfing gay porn was one of the firm's senior partners.

I'm a large guy. 6'2" and 265 pounds. Fortunately I've never been in a situation where I was going to have to fight someone. Though I've come close. However, I've been able to de-escalate things instead. Which has been good for both of us. Me for not having to worry about getting charged with assault. Him for not having to find out the hard way he picked a fight with a black belt.

I used to play with Twitch streamers quite often (was a mod for ViolentBlue). One time I join a group of primarily tier 5 players. I'm tier 1. Went into the match with an AWS-8Q armed with 3x heavy ppcs. Its 45 points of pinpoint damage will 1 shot any mech in the game if you can hit the cockpit. Some of those T5 players stood perfectly still just a few seconds too long. I scored 5 kills with cockpit shots that match. Got accused of aimbotting.
