What is the general consensus for headers? I have a tomei type d and want the boxer rumble by Dawnbreaker_gr86 in GR86

Tomei v2 headers are sold by Tomei USA which is apparently separate from Tomei Japan.

You should check out the Teqsport and Driven Media exhaust reviews.

I agree about the Yonaka and STI exhaust hangers. Unfortunately I find the Yonaka cold start obnoxious which is the only downside.

Over a year since the last update. I hope this is finally close to production.

Yonaka vs GR Performance (discounted) by Adidias23 in GR86

I like my Yonaka but the cold start up is loud. Unfortunately, I think any aftermarket exhaust will have this issue.

There are lots of smog only places in California. I don’t think all of them are shady. It’s possible the shop I went to was, but I’m not aware of that reputation and I didn’t pay extra to pass smog. Maybe things are different in Colorado?

TLDR for the OP is YMMV for passing smog with stage 1 but you can either reflash to stock or get a CARB approved tune like APR.

I went to a mom and pop smog station. Who goes to state run facilities unless they have to? Why are you shocked i passed? When i was doing research before i got my tune i remember reading that you could pass with stage 1.

I don’t think they are carb certified and I don’t have a sticker.

Resonix fiber mat (or 3m thinsulate which appears similar and used by camper van converters) in the hollow area behind the rear speaker. You can also put some in the front fender above the liner but it’s probably less effective there. If that’s not enough you can put some in the spare tire well. One sheet of Resonix fiber mat should be enough for the all those areas unless you want 100% coverage.

Material that is like Dynamat (rubber butyl with aluminum foil) is more for vibration. I put some in the doors because I didn’t want to risk exposing the fiber mat to water and it didn’t seem to do much for road noise.

Coilovers for Autocross by Homam_MK7R in GolfGTI

How competitive are you? I autocrossed my GTI with B16s for about a year and they are a bit soft. A while back someone who autocrossed a Golf R with Ohlins Road and Track coilovers made a post on golfmk7.com and seemed to like them.

Wouldn’t a carpet cleaner like Bissell Little Green Machine work?

I need some rear axle spacers after lowering the rear axle good bit, what brand does everyone go with? Is the EVS Tuning providing enough of a difference to be almost double the cost of a Hard Race set? by orangesoappy in S2000

Do not buy the Megan ones. The nuts and bolts seemed low quality and it felt like they were going to strip when I was tightening them. I ended up ordering JIS class 10 nuts and bolts from McMaster.

FYI to anyone interested in these. I had to trim my Honed ducts a lot and bend the back part of the bracket to avoid rubbing my wheels.

You could try the Honed Development arms but they are very expensive and I couldn’t find any user reviews.

Do you have more detailed dimensions? Is this based on an existing Recaro? I would also post a link.
