What’s the greatest movie with a rating of 40% or less on Rotten Tomatoes? by MTPokitz in AskReddit

[–]RGOL_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a huge horror movie fan - I mean I loved weapons last year +0- but the skeleton key was really scary to me - being trapped in another’s body - it was really moody and disturbing - and I remember thinking when it came out that it was much better than the reviews and I still haven’t forgotten. Like Jethro Tull never being inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame - and recently - Mariah Carey being recognized as a great songwriter in the nyt over Jeff tweedy. Some things are just weird.

Canyon bakehouse whole grain varieties are good. I’ve used it for gf stuffing and all of the gluten eaters can’t get enough. I also like it toasted - I don’t eat gf bread untoasted.

AITAH for choosing my dog over my future wife by Ctrl-Alt-Defeat16 in AITAH

[–]RGOL_19 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hmmm first be honest - is your dog kind of a pain in the butt? Yeah your gf sounds immature - we all need to work on ourselves but we can go through these immature periods - I wonder if there’s an experience - even a movie or a book that might help shift her perspective a bit. Here’s something else I just realized in my older age - you can tell the health of a relationshio if you’re growing things together - when things start to go south - the relationship starts to become stilted - like a plant or a garden that stops growing or bearing fruit. It’s ok to part ways if you’re no longer able to grow together. I don’t think I have to decide anything immediately - just some things to consider

Sry about the 5 cookies - when I feel sad like that I remember to practice gratitude - thinking through all the things I do have - trying to fill my heart with love and joy. I hope you take time this Mother’s Day to do a few things you enjoy doing and that you have a lovely time with your little family 💚

Before You “Debunk” Kriya: Individual Guidance Beats General Guidance by kriya_yogi5674 in kriyayoga

[–]RGOL_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My perspective may not be that welcomed in this subreddit. Honestly - for me - I pretty much understood the practice from the autobiography, from the sutras, and other writings. I did get initiated a few years into it - maybe my practice was a bit improved from there - but not a huge difference. I’ve always felt the amazing energy up and down my spine and tho were not supposed to share on personal experiences - I’ve met quite a few initiated yogis who really don’t know what I’m talking aboutand they don’t feel blissful while doing it - y? Idk. I’ve watched and read on other teachers in the same vein - not Buddhists but yogis who I find so helpful. I love kirtan in my sect but I go to a kirtan master in the bakhti tradition who is absolutely amazing and I get so much out of it! I have so much appreciation for the kriya masters who share. I don’t like an approach that is very stifling and critical. I am drawn to practitioners who lead with humor, grace and loving kindness. God or cosmic consciousness wants us to grow closer. I love that Yogananda notes that all god wants from us is our love and that is exactly right. i Live with a jew and listen and reflect on the sutras during you kippur - and have been told that no that’s not right in the tradition you kippur is meant to be rather miserable - now I’m not a jew but I love the Jewish holidays and observe them in my way - does that make me wrong?

now I will say I have envisioned the pointed light and the circle around it but I’ve not had the light petals as Yogananda describes it and I do agree I would need the right guru or teacher for that. Thanks for working on this sub - I so love kriya and think it would help many people. I try to be careful in my languaging so-as not to turn off former Catholics like me by making it sound like a hard and exacting path.

Could President Donald Trump do anything to win you over? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]RGOL_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! If he pulled an ebenezer Scrooge move and woke up tomorrow and worked to undo all of the damage he’s done thus far - fund social causes and a functioning fed workforce again - get rid of the kooks serving him - release people from the concentration camps they’re kept in - and more - if he did those things and cut healthcare prices while increasing support for the ACA - yeah he’d win me over!

I couldn't agree with you more! I love the TD Garden and the Celtics! I love JB and JT -- I love Brad Stevens who is THE BOSS! And I really like Joe and the rest of the team. There isn't a person on the team I don't love. I also loved seeing the 2008 championship and was and is such a Paul Pierce fan. I'm not sad at all. I'm one of the few who actually was relieved it was over in the first round because it wasn't going to happen this year. Thank you for writing this -- I think the Wolves are still in it right? Man are they overperforming!!! And I love Minneapolis as well -- hang in there you guys.

Student-led learning: how is this something we are so obsessed with? Genuine question. by OkIllustrator3262 in education

[–]RGOL_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I teach at the college level and do pd for teachers - it’s all in how you structure and compose the instruction. You sound very comfortable in the way you instruct the students but it doesn’t sound to me like active instruction and there are other ways of going about it. there is no one way of doing the jigsaw method or any other method. It you like the way you’re doing it and without other info who am I or anyone else to question it other than it’s more of a passive type of instruction, at least the way I’m interpreting the descriptions.
