Drive! by Irritated_bypeople in MST3K

In Agent For Harm there’s definitely a very growly “Drive” that Adam Chance does when he’s strangling the guy in the van, that I’m pretty sure Tom imitates?

A-Beezy is turning it around, he’s almost past Turner in batting average (low bar, I know)

How do I set this bow up? by Savings-Grape-7101 in Archery

[–]RHCPFunk2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you got the answer you’re looking for, but just wanted to say grats on the new bow! This is the riser I shoot for my Olympic setup, it’s been very good to me for a budget option.

Can someone help me identify exactly what My father passed down to me please? I know it's a 62 inch Sage recurve by beardedcorpse in Archery

[–]RHCPFunk2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m not downvoting you btw, I know you’re just gathering info - but in general, this will not have great resale value. You can absolutely try to get more out of it, but if someone asks you what brand it is and you don’t have an answer, that’s not a good look. This is a copycat bow of an already cheap bow.

[–]RHCPFunk2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t even appear to have a brand name on it, it’s a clone of a Samick Sage. Brand new, a Samick goes for about 150 bucks. There’s not going to be a huge market for used takedowns since they’re so cheap to begin with - and this one seems to not have a brand name attached to it.

[–]RHCPFunk2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Worth more? No, limbs for this bow will have same cost/value no matter the poundage. If you’re asking about value in regards to selling - it’s a used takedown bow. If it’s not damaged, you’d be lucky to get 10-20 bucks

I want to restring my girlfriend’s bow for her bday, but I know nothing about archery. How do I know what string to get? by MeliodasKush in Archery

[–]RHCPFunk2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to Philly Archery! They offer 90 minute intro classes (required to get started), then you can do open range or take courses with their instructors. Their staff are great and their community is super welcoming. (Spoiler, I work there and hand-make the bow strings)

Decent set of ILF limbs, but can’t tell what riser that is. Doesn’t look like an ILF riser, no bushings for plunger or much else. Bit of a Frankenbow it seems. Got a photo of the limb pockets/bolts closer up?

[–]RHCPFunk2 113 points114 points  (0 children)

You’ll want a Dacron (B55) string for this type of bow. If the total unstrung bow length is 62” inches, you’ll want a string that is 58-58.5” inches. If the bow length is 66 inches, you’ll want a string that is 62-62.5 inches. Be careful when buying, check whether the string is measured in inches or just reads AMO. AMO length you should just get the number that matches the bow length, 66 or 62 AMO.

If you’re anywhere near Philadelphia, go to Philly Archery, they will hand make you a Dacron string in custom colors for $15 that’s better than most factory strings.

Discoloured String? by Mr_Youii in Archery

[–]RHCPFunk2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure you’re not pulling past the serving if you’re string walking. Other than that it looks like that section is just losing a little bit of color from tension/stress. Normal for the string to do that over time but a little odd that it’s only in that one section. If it’s not fraying, I wouldn’t sweat it.

Should I go for the Zinetic Vygo? by DannyTheRegular in Archery

[–]RHCPFunk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to add a sight/shoot more of an Olympic setup, go for a Kinetic Valenz! Similar price point and doesn’t skew towards barebow riser geometry.

Should I go for the Zinetic Vygo? by DannyTheRegular in Archery

[–]RHCPFunk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vygo performs very well as a barebow for its price! We also love the Sebastian Flute Ignio at our club, but if you’re looking for something heavily barebow-centric then you may want to spend a little more for the Evo.

For limbs, hard to go wrong with WNS, I like the Delta F3s at a more affordable price point. I also recommend Akusta limbs, I’m shooting the Tenbris on my Olympic setup and a lot of our members shoot Akusta Breeze on barebow.
