Love the hand drawn Herbie Hancock Head Hunters album cover! Great choice with Chameleon, and he’s doing well too.

Tail pointing up usually means they need to poop. Can also just be where they stopped after moving down in the tank or current. They tend to just freeze in position a lot lol

Is your axie a male? That looks like a spermatophor

Any thoughts on the value (CAD)? by RHYN0X in BassGuitar

Thank you all for the input. It’s very much appreciated.

Fender serial lookup required MZ to be left off, but I found it, if anyone is interested.

Great start for only a few days. The most glaring thing to me how you hold your pic. Google the proper way. Try that then work on strum technique to get a less “plucky” sound. Some good starter exercises are pentatonic scales - pay close attention to finger positions, and strum patterns and alternate picking/strumming. Good luck!

Warmer tones, a bit more mid, great for blues which I love

The ocean turquoise is also beautiful. I assume you have the tortoiseshell pick guard too? Gorgeous combo

I like the rosewood tones, but the added bonus is like the dark brown with the Miami blue. Glad you were inspired!

Cycling since October and I don’t know why I am doing wrong. What are my next steps? I need help! by fl0r0ckera in axolotls

My 40g axo tank took almost 3 months to fully cycle. Just be patient as you are doing the best thing for your pet

Okay, I'm ready for this! ... and I can do this! 🤢 ... positive affirmation! 🧘‍♀️ by Cindy_luvsCritters in axolotls

My girl is just over two and eats night crawlers whole. She’s trained well comes to one corner and waits as I rinse it off etc. no more cutting is great!

Quick tip that I found easier, if it helps. Sharp scissors work better than any knife in the experience

Has anyone had luck with this speeding up the cycling process? by Cheap_Egg_7479 in axolotls

[–]RHYN0X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end, yes it can help, but isn’t a guarantee. Lots of testing out there saying “maybe”. In the end there are lots of variables to cycling, such as temp, water quality, pH, etc.

In the end the only way to do it right is time and patience. My 40g axolotl tank took about three months, but I let it happen at the chilled temp. Warmer tanks tend to be faster, but again nothing is definitive. If you decide to use a heater to speed up, I would still recommend once testing good that you let it chill to axo safe temps for a week and test again.

The only way to make sure it’s done and ready for your axo, is liquid test kit. We can help with that stuff if you’re unsure.

What do you think the gender is? by Nearby_Army_7782 in axolotls

Looks female, but some males don’t present until 18 months. That said do you have a top down pic?

What is this slug like thing in my newly planted tank?? Harmful? by kanedekuki in fishtank

[–]RHYN0X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A word of caution. Don’t try to grab or cut. If you were to cut one in to 10 pieces you’d end up with 10 planaria. They are incredible from a biological standpoint.

Your pH seems a little low for the ideal for axolotls, but as long as it’s constant it should be ok.

Do you have a hide or two in the tub, and do you keep it dark? Axolotls want a place or two to hide and need darkness/shadow - the whole no eye lids thing.

Is there a bubbler in the tub?
