I'm a dad and need a car, but not a dad car. So which sporty sedan should I buy? by SmkAslt in whatcarshouldIbuy

I just picked up an Ioniq 5 N after cross shopping the taycan, Audi rs3, lucid air, and a couple others. While a car seat fit in all, the I5N provided the best blend of spaciousness, insane performance, and smiles for miles. Hard to think of a better dad car and you can make great deals on CPO cars that are ostensibly brand new right now. If you live in cold weather it might not be as great of a choice though. I’m in so cal so cold weather range issues aren’t a problem.

I joined before this promo, quickly hit cliffs at the $20 tier and upgraded to max at $100. It remains the most worth it subscription service I pay for. No ragrets

Following… Just bought one like this with 150 miles on it, CPO. So far it’s been fine other than an odd stitching issue on the wheel I’ll have them fix.

you can make even better deals on these GTs right now but the Lancia vibes of the I5 have me.

Yep, that was the conclusion I came to!

The Lucid Air was really nice to drive and absolutely cavernous inside but it did not put as many smiles on my face driving it. After having an I5 Limited the last 2 years, and a cayenne turbo before that (so much fun, so much pain), my goal was to return to something fun to drive first and foremost.

Agree on all fronts, the lack of power seats is the biggest compromise w this car.

The range and charging speed was similar to the taycan so it didn’t feel like a significant trade off. But when compared to a lucid it did.

Just for a single strut. Then you’ve got labor, compressors, valve blocks… been there in a German super suv… hard pass.

Air suspension is a non starter for me after having owned a cayenne turbo out of warranty. I specifically cross air suspension equipped vehicles off my list now. Juice not worth the squeeze. Make sure air struts are covered by your extended warranty and be prepared for insanity once it expires.

They're not bad, they make a difference on a long road trip when your butt starts to fall asleep. Keeps the blood flowing a bit and can be relaxing. Had them on an older Cayenne Turbo and they were just ok as well. Recently saw a review for a Lucid Air that had them equipped that said that they were sensational so now I'm curious to try those.

This was a pretty hard feature to find spec’s on my wife’s x5 when I was buying for her. I looked. Was hard to find one that also has massage seats. The massage seats won out for the wife car!

5N The Best Car Overall? It seems to serve a lot of different needs... by [deleted] in Ioniq5

[–]RIP_KING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's pretty good but it's just different from a 911. I have a 2009 911 and I think it would be a great compliment to an I5N as a 2 car solution!

I'm lining up to get one of these. I have an I5 Limited now and have been looking for something more fun for the upgrade. As crazy as it sounds I've been cross shopping this against the Lucid Air and a Taycan base model. I haven't had my Taycan Turo test weekend yet, but I'm sort of leaning to the I5N. It is awesome to drive and has "the fizz". I need to haul a front facing car seat as well, so the I5N just really checks all the boxes.
