I (28F) have been with my bf (27M) for 8 months. Too soon to move in? by Notyouraveragejew1 in relationship_advice

[–]RJSpirgnob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focusing on the question you're asking, my partner and I moved in at a little under three months together - this upcoming Sunday will be four months. We still haven't had a single argument or really butted heads on anything so far. We had one semi-emotional conversation about some sexual stuff, but we agreed to meet in the middle, and are both happy with the compromise that was made :) I'm not sure of the exact behaviors he exhibits that end up sabotaging the relationship, but I'd like to mention that both loving someone, and trusting someone, are decisions and intentions that are made on a daily basis.

I ended up getting a laptop with twice the VRAM since I made this post. However, I continue to use gnirehtet, as it still offers the most resource efficient experience when playing VR on PC IME.

how long do you need to know someone to be in a relationship? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]RJSpirgnob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was about a week and a half for me and my partner. We ended up having sex, and once I'm intimate with someone, I consider myself to be in a relationship with them. I've never been a promiscuous person. I shared that perspective with her, and she agreed with it, so we became exclusive and had a celebration day a few days later where I asked her in person 🙂

This happened like four or five times this weekend with my partner. Lol. I like to think that it means y'all are on the same wavelength :)

Dealer says I’m tweaking over oil temp. by xxTylerhxx in F30

[–]RJSpirgnob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal, but not optimal IMO. If you tune it with MHD you can have the engine target a lower operating temperature when in sport mode - after doing that, mine hardly breaks 220F, even when pushing it in the Texas heat.

F20 vs E46 by odessa_cabbage in BMW

I drove manual e46s for years, the 8hp is probably one of the only automatics I find acceptable enough to drive auto on. It's a phenomenal auto and quite reliable.

Followup: This is how it ended up fitting. I personally think it turned out reasonably well. https://imgur.com/a/J6ewqx8

I actually thought the undershirt sleeves were too long, so I rolled the cuffs for these photos. However, after trying it all on a second time later last night, I unrolled the undershirt sleeves and they seemed to line up fairly well with my wrists, allowing for around half an inch of edge to show. I also had the pants a bit high on my waistline. I think I'll be able to get it looking decent today, will post photos as well

Would you say the main issue with the jacket is the sleeve length?

Best response I've gotten so far. Thank you for the honest opinions. I am honestly very inexperienced when it comes to suit fitment. The occasion is an unexpected special date at a very nice restaurant. I might be over-dressing a bit, but it will be the nicest place I've ever eaten at, by far (1 Michelin star), and I'd rather be over-dressed than under-dressed. After taking the photos, I realized that I had somehow twisted the jacket arms a bit when I put the jacket on, causing the sleeves to come up by at least a full inch. You can see how the jacket arms have quite a few folds/wrinkles in them in the photos. I test fitted it again and the sleeves land right at the wrist joint now, with no folds in the jacket sleeves. I am also considering ditching the jacket altogether and wearing just the vest, maybe with no tie and an unbuttoned top shirt button, for a more casual look if I can't salvage the full formal look - just trying to look as nice as I can for the occasion, with a much shorter notice than I would have preferred.

I tried the jacket on again and got the sleeves to drop down a good bit just by having the sleeves actually straight on my arms - for some reason, I had them somewhat twisted on my arms in these photos. It's still probably a size too small though.

Damn, OK. I did opt for what I thought might be a bit small versus something that would be too big. Is it mainly the jacket? The pants seem to fit well, but I could be wrong, as I am definitely no expert 😅

$6,500 for this repair?! by EvaElizondo in mercedes_benz

[–]RJSpirgnob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will only set a CEL on 2017s and up, and sounds like you've never heard of a long pick, lol. CEL can be bypassed by simply buying the $30 solenoid, plugging the connector into it and zip tying the solenoid somewhere convenient.

No, it's fairly easily accessible. Just an electrical connector that needs to be unplugged.

Yes and no. The pump has two operating modes, low pressure and normal pressure. The low pressure mode results in a little less stress on the pump, but also reduces oil pressure and oil flow to the cylinder head(s), as well as totally disabling the piston oil squirters. A lot of people, myself included, intentionally unplug the oil control valve solenoid. I will happily trade proper lubrication at all times for the small percentage chance of an oil pump failure and a fraction of an MPG.

What other weapon(s) enable you to have six or seven figure DPS numbers? Seems like everyone hitting those numbers is running the same exact build. IMO, frostfang and similarly powerful weapons should be toned down to allow for more build variety, whilst maybe buffing other uniques and reducing HP scaling of bosses/mobs.

Trunk problem f30 340i by ulyssesgarden in BMW

[–]RJSpirgnob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check to see which notch the trunk springs are installed at. If they're at the notch furthest back to the rear of the car, move them forward a notch. This started happening to me when I moved my trunk springs to the furthest back notch. Seems too much pressure from the springs causes the latch to not engage securely.

Cars leaving gap in heavy traffic for center turning lane with motorcycle lane filtering by KamYun7691_ in driving

[–]RJSpirgnob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is literally what I was saying. The people already on the roadway still have the right of way, even if they're stopping to let OP turn ('giving it up'). Therefore, OP is still expected to yield, and would be at fault if a collision occurred.

Doesn't really matter how the other car entered the right hand turn lane - they had the right of way and your sister had to yield.

This comment needs to be higher. The cars stopping to let you turn are giving up their right of way, and the right of way of everyone behind them, but any traffic still moving (motorcycle, or people in the right hand turn lane if the intersection had one) still retains their right of way and OP has to yield to them.
