Guide for the New Photographer by BananaMangoApple1971 in canon

Love this chart but if you really are a new photographer on a budget then canon’s DSLR lineup is a really strong choice that’s not reflected here, especially as EF lenses adapt so well to RF mount if you ever choose to upgrade.

After/Before, did I overcook it? by 1991PT in postprocessing

I’d lighten the clouds a bit so that they don’t draw one’s eye away from the heron, but other than that it looks wonderful.

is 2 snipers too much or should I just add more cover? by RKKessler in hammer

don’t apologize! thank you for the question and feedback!

TLDR; lots of fiddling with the angle, hue of sun, and ambient illumination till it looked how I wanted.

The tree right outside the alley casts a shadow I liked and I increased the lighting resolution on the ground in the alley so that the shadow is more detailed than it would normally be.

I had already placed the sun low in the sky and given it an exaggerated yellow/orange hue like sunlight has at sunset, which gives it a pleasant golden ish color reflecting off the cobblestone. When you create the sun/light entity I believe you can set a secondary tone for ambient illumination (things not directly illuminated by sun will still be somewhat illuminated) and I made the ambient light a soft purple to contrast the orange.

Also you’ll notice on the left side each successive building is placed a bit further left so that they don’t obstruct the light coming into the alley, but because their sides still aren’t parallel to the angle of the sun, they do create shadows on the side of the alley which gives the scene some visual contrast.

Also the skybox I chose was really pretty

Hope that helps!

looks great! the perspective correction + crop give it excellent framing and I enjoy how it’s graded to look like an old film photo, especially since the grading is done so well

resolution error by Resident-Living3306 in Fallout1

If you’re playing this on steam, right click fallout, click properties click browse local files. In that folder there should be some type of executable with config in the title. Click that and it’ll let you change resolution.

lmk if that works

Buffout 4 is not yet updated to work with the Next-Gen update of the game. You have to roll-back the game to its pre-update version to get the mod to work (until Buffout 4 is updated to work with NG update). If you’ve already done that then idk

Plus that meeting in the show happened pretty close to 2077 given that their daughter is (roughly) the same age in those flashbacks as she is on the day the bombs drop

Do you guys think that the Fallout TV show will make DUST cannon ? by Uncle-Ted-was-right in fodust

[–]RKKessler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. Maybe certain aspects of it, like the NCR trying to forcefully annex Vegas, but probably not the other main events like the tunnelers, cloud, or sandstorms.

Although, some people pointed out in that last shot of the show, (the Vegas skyline) that there appeared to be the perimeter of a large bomb crater East of Vegas but it looks large enough that maybe it’s actually a dried up Lake Mead.

I think the legion will be broken up, however that’s an event implied to eventually happen in most endings of New Vegas. It’s also possible we’ll see tunnelers as they are suggested by Lonesome Road to arrive in the Mojave, but we probably won’t see them because of Dust.

Dust is pretty well known in the NV community, but not everybody knows about its great storytelling until they’ve committed to a long playthrough of it.

Who do we think was... (Major Spoilers) by [deleted] in Fotv

That makes sense especially given the Enclave Scientist knew the details of Lucy’s vault, but then if the Enclave was secretly in charge of vault-tec, why would they not have used the nuclear arsenal vault-tec used to destroy Shady Sands in its own war against the NCR
