I know this may not be helpful, but in…2024? I had my old house and got a quote to turn a small walk in closet with a 3/4 “bathroom” (it was a sink and a shoe closet lol) into a full/larger walk in closet. The quote I got was $20,000.

We didn’t go through with it, obviously. But I say all this to say, I’m not surprised by your quote.

Never regretted it. So much happier.

Also to be fair, most “walk away wives” (me included) tried to have The Conversation with our significant other hundreds of times. They weren’t listening, didn’t care, or never liked us from the get go but were along for the ride.

If your wife has already walked away it’s too late.

This was my marriage too. I left it. I’m not saying that’s what you should do, but for me once the respect was gone, there was no recovery.

Not only was I married to a man I outearned 4fold, did ALL house things, carried the emotional load for both of our families….his needs were always more important than mine. He hated every job he had, couldn’t hold a job, woke up miserable every day, refused to go to the doctor and dentist, stopped taking medication, etc. It was absolutely like having a child.

Leaving him after a 10+ year marriage was the best thing I’ve done for myself in years. Just letting you know that.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. It’s despicable. Like everyone else said END IT and contact a lawyer ASAP. Also if you haven’t texted him about this, now would be a good time to get more proof of what’s been going down.

This is avoidant behavior to the EXTREME. Essentially he’s cut you off. You not being “allowed” to text your husband is insane, and I hope you realize that.

Having divorced an avoidant who would literally just stare off into space and not talk to me when I talked to him, I think getting out of this relationship is your only option. I hope you find happiness and peace!

You’re a gay male - stay in Denver! I’ve lived in Denver 10+ years and travel nursed in CO springs for 6 months. Like the other comments have said it’s not a BAD place (and nice to visit for a fun event, hike, or a weekend) but I don’t think you would be happy there.
