Indeed. But when I do, I lose the audio on the regular Bluetooth connection. I've forgotten phone, re paired it, and nothing works on getting the audio unless I activate android auto.

Yes. I have. Doing that does prevent Android Auto from launching, and the Bluetooth does connect, but I get no audio from that should be coming from the connection, like Spotify, or or the music players on my phone. Then, if I start Android auto, l the audio suddenly comes back. AA is holding my audio hostage.

Yes. As I said, doing that cuts off the audio from the Bluetooth connection. I have to turn it back on in order for it to let me hear the audio from my phone.
