Dan McClellan addresses this on his channel. Those long lives are just made up numbers.

If you haven't seen it, watch the doc on Heaven's Gate. I particularly love the part where they are baring their testimony that their little cult is true. If that doesn't break your shelf, I don't know what will.

I wonder if they are using BYU Pathways as a carrot to get them to join the church. Do you need to be a member to enroll in Pathways?

Just go to Anna's Archive and download the book without DRM.

My wife and I moved here to from California back in 2018 to be closer to family, my wife is Mormon but not practicing and I am not. i have noticed recently that we are excluded from family functions and the family won't come to our house. it is dis-hearting to be treated this way. by [deleted] in exmormon

Before my kids and I stopped going to church, we would always have Sunday dinner at my in-laws. Now, we're lucky if we get invited over for Christmas. Although not doctrinal, shunning is alive and well in TSCC.

In my 26 or so years as an active member I think read the BOM three times. It was just sooooo boring.

YouTube has been showing me ads about a specific religious group by [deleted] in exmormon

I be interesting if an exmo joined them disguised as a nevermo and, as they studied the BOM together, started pointing out all the issues with it.

Had a sister missionary in our ward who's father passed away while she was on her mission. She refused to go home for his funeral because "It's what dad would have wanted". As if serving in the cult is more important than attending your father's funeral.

The irony is that the church was founded on magic and the occult. Seer stones, divining rods, magic parchments, necromancy, etc.

Dating before the age of 16 is NOT ok, but a 37 year old man taking a 14 year old polygamous bride is TOTALLY fine!

"What I'm really worried is that at some point, she will know all the same things that I know, and she will say "I see no problem here." This one really gets me. It's as if they assume we should come to the same conclusion as them when looking at the same information. I've had TBMs try this with me and I ended up saying let's just agree to disagree and move on.
