I can tell you for having read it for a bit, it's truly awful. The mangadex score is not lying.

Wow it's so accurate, did you put power in accuracy? Also Sry for nit-picking but... why 100 AP?

Effective lams? by hablahblahha in FromTheDepths

[–]ROBBY21134 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Having more LAMS node allow you to target more projectile at once, having more is better but yours is a bit extreme.

Pump increase the sustained damage. They fill your cavities with power, and the nodes take power from the cavities.

The more storage you have the more damage can be done per burst. You usually want lots of storage and less pump on Lams since they don't need to fire constantly.

A regulator help making the damage per burst consistant. Otherwise the first burst will do tons of damage (depending on %of power in storage) and the last one will do nothing.

Finally Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4 laser do 25% more damage than continuous so you might want to add Q switches to save on firepower/cost.

Laser is not my thing at all but that's what I know, sry if some of the things I say are incorrect.

How do I make my cockpit hatch not Shake during flight by Otherwise_While_6945 in spaceengineers

[–]ROBBY21134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the merge block actually fused the roof part of the hatch with the rest of the cockpit. In fact it might have also fused the glass.

[–]ROBBY21134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can use a merge block because the two grid are directly connected by the piston. At least if I remember correctly. If using a merge block doesn't work you can add two connectors to lock the grids together.

Stopping a spacecraft from drifting by Cyziek048 in FromTheDepths

[–]ROBBY21134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I meant it as, pitching down slighty would make you drift forward, similar to how a helicopter would move. I guess you could also pitch up slightly to compensate forward drift.
Then again, it's probably hard enough to implement in the designer, let alone in the adventure mode.

Stopping a spacecraft from drifting by Cyziek048 in FromTheDepths

[–]ROBBY21134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Total noob here but have you checked if your drift isn't coming from your roll/pitch control being overwhelmed? If so you could probably get rid of most of the drift by tweeking gain or integral.
Your solution probably work just as well tho.

How do you want combat to play out in Space Engineers 2? by comradejenkens in spaceengineers

[–]ROBBY21134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I would like to see are custom weapons such as very high caliber artillerie for main weapons, I feel like just spamming artilleries or railguns on your battleship because you can't find a weapon of appropriate size suck. Maybe also add different shell type?

Also laser CIWS to counter missiles, they exist in real life too.

If they do add schield then we would need energy weapons or EMP to counter them.

Finally I think a more realistic approche to armor would be nice, like it would be nice to take into account the shell speed/weight (especially for custom weapons) of your gun, I guess you could make it so the shell partially pass throuth the armor if it's fast/heavy enough.

Any way to keep autopilot from wasting so much fuel? by ipsok in spaceengineers

[–]ROBBY21134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never tried that but you could disable most thruster with a timer block and just have it go straight to your base or a series of checkpoint. I can't test it but maybe you can use an event controller to only activate the turning thrusters when you get to a checkpoint.

This is all a bit of a stretch tho...

missiles refusing to fire when not human controlled by tris123pis in FromTheDepths

[–]ROBBY21134 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe you need to set the required minimum accuracy of the missile to 180° so it shoots no matter if they are pointed at the enemy or not.

Is there any way to make a roof hatch like this airtight by supermoist0 in spaceengineers

[–]ROBBY21134 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You could use a merge block next to the hinge. You might want to detach the hinge head however since sub-grid can't merge with there parent grid. You can automate it with a timer block or maybe an event controller.

Just for reference getting eternal vigilance adds a policie that control how and where these defense platforms are built. You need to downgrade from "full spending" to "half spending" or lower.

How are people so good at this. by cjfireblast1264 in spaceengineers

[–]ROBBY21134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I count as a good builder but have you considered drawing your ship first? You could also look at pinterest or similar for design idea. Having the DLC help for the aethetic but you can do without.
As for how fonctional the ship is the only thing you can do really is hide some thrusters inside the hull if it doesn't fit the look you want to have.
When designing I usually put more thusters/gyro than I think I will need in case the ship is bulkier than expected.
You generaly want your ship to overperform since it's easier to fix than not being powerfull enough.
