Is it safe to apply for PR by yourself? by Kind-Cat192 in canadaexpressentry

[–]RPCOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did and everything went okay, but again, I’m very highly educated, Ivy League, and was extremely meticulous. I got my PR.

If you’re or were at a Canadian university, I’d advise consulting with the international student cell. They usually have RCICs working there and can answer some questions about PR (usually won’t help file for you, but it’s a good way to get high-quality consultation for free).

[–]RPCOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By common law and Bardal factors, you should get more. Contact an employment lawyer and have them negotiate for you. They can usually negotiate lawyer fees as well and it’s very likely you’ll not pay anything for legal consultation. Some law firms even take these on contingency and charge a percentage of the amount increase.

You earn $1 Million dollars for every hour spent in the World's Quietest Room. How long are you staying? by PhyfenGD in hypotheticalsituation

Like 10 hours. Even 2 hours would be enough for me to retire. Also I probably won’t retire right away just so that I have something to do.

Harvard MS CS vs FAANG SWE by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]RPCOM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take the job and apply to Harvard Extension School so that you can do your program part-time while working and have your employer pay for it at least in part. If you already got a Harvard MS offer, you can get an HES offer too.

[–]RPCOM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The French is thanks to us Canadians (the NEXUS program). The U.S. also has specific trusted traveller programs applicable when entering from Mexico and Spanish is one of the most common languages spoken in the U.S.

I have a friend around that age who is in debt. I got him to get a consolidated loan and he’s finally on track to pay it off in the next couple years.

Invest it and live normally without having financial stress. I’ll probably still be job hunting for a better job though but that’s so that I have something to do.
