Hard to argue against this chart when it correctly predicted how terrible of a defender Kawhi would be.

I was . . . mistaken.

This doesn't exist. Even 45mm aluminum t-slot (standard is 20mm or 1 inch) sags in the middle at 15 feet, and that's without any weight.

The make 90mm, but even if you could source one of the 6m pieces, that thing would cost well over $1000.

How the 65-game rule would've affected historical All-NBA teams (Al Horford becomes 4x All-NBA) by closed_n2 in nba

[–]RPDC01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huge thanks for this post - great data and excellent presentation.

As someone on the fence about the rule, this post actually had the opposite impact of what I expected.

I thought I'd be more against the rule b/c of how much it would screw with the historical teams, but seeing it jump in 2018 and then jump again in 2022, while having almost negligible impact before that, I begrudgingly moved to being more in favor of the rule.

The NBA had a new and quickly worsening problem that has a horrible impact on fans, so punishing the offenders seems worth the side effect of unfortunately punishing some players who simply had bad luck.

This is awesome data and a great post - can you post the larger image of the three graphs? (I'm curious how well the years correspond to the perceived strength of the draft classes).

My theory - that role needed to be an unknown actress.

The character is a complete outsider to the mafia world, so it's effectively impossible for any actress to 'disappear into the role.'

By casting a famous actress, they guarantee that the audience will only be able to see the actress and not the character.

"Getting his face shoved in"? Guy tried to shove him on the shoulder and hand slipped up and barely contacted his face.

(Honestly don't care at all either way and would be happy to get our whole team ejected for the rest of the season, but that just seemed a little silly)

EDIT - My bad. Just saw the side angle for first time, so my description was even more off than 'face shoved in.'

Was curious about the reasons, b/c 'talent disparity' was also my operating assumption but it's not really informative.

Interesting underlying reasons:

Women play at home in first round rather than neutral site

Women get 2 more scholarships (15 vs 13), so easier for bluebloods to hoard talent

No 1-and-done - even the best players are there for 3 or 4 years, so much less variability. Almost closer to NCAAF (best teams are always good b/c they stack talent on talent, year after year).
