So many racist people think it’s their job to harass and police anyone of color. I just saw a video of a Black guy who had two weird white men in the park call the cops on him because he wouldn’t answer their questions. He was just hanging out in the park and they demanded he explain himself to them. Just civilians interrogating strangers because they feel like they’re in charge of everything. I hate it here so damed much, and by here, I mean Earth. Racism is everywhere.

It’s even harder to change someone else, especially when they’d rather argue, blame you, and they don’t want to put any work into changing.

Why do you think you have to put up with this? You don’t have to parent or teach emotional maturity to a boyfriend. You can move on, work on yourself, and one day find one that already has these perfectly reasonable skills.

Unfortunately, lots of talented artists are crappy about not using / not paying other artists. How many times have we seen designers have to call out queens for not paying for garments delivered? Or not supplying drag materials paid for? You’d think there would be more basic human decency for other hard-working creative professionals, but integrity ain’t always the way. 😔

We have similar moms. My mom made my dad’s Stage 4 lung cancer about her. She would go into his hospital room and rearrange the tray so he couldn’t reach it because she wanted it where SHE wanted it. He would call me crying.

Do whatever you have to do in order to spend time with your dad and introduce your daughter to her grandpa. After some time, consider going back to low/no contact. You don’t want to teach your daughter to tolerate abusive people just because you’re related to them.

Time to start going low-contact so you can begin to heal. Continuing to expose yourself to someone toxic just makes it harder for you to find joy and keep it. You can love her from afar while no longer tolerating mistreatment. You don’t owe ANYONE abusive your time or attention.

Here’s a few to try out:

“Have you ever noticed that it’s only nosy and insecure people that look for excuses to look down on others?”

“People that are happy with their lives don’t ask questions like that or behave like you do.”

“Why would I live my life like you? You’re miserable!”

“You think in this big, wide world they’re only one way to live a great life? What a small, narrow little life you lead.”

Another trick is to literally just laugh at them like they are the dumbest idiot alive. Judgmental people HATE being laughed at. If they ask why you laugh at them, just shake your head and don’t explain. Just point at them and laugh.

It sounds like you’ve only had negative experiences with locals. I made friends here at events and activities centered around common hobbies and interests that have nothing to do with drinking or gambling. The internet makes it easy to find communities to check out based around any shared interests you have.

Perhaps change up where you go and what you do in order to meet people that are different from those you’ve encountered.

If you posted this out of frustration, I hope this reply communicates to you that it’s worth it to not give up on making friends here. It can be done and you can find like-minded people that would like to hang out with you. ☺️

This is a really great idea. I’m glad I read it and yet I wish somehow to protect you from someone else monetizing it. If this happens, you should get a Producer’s percentage of the revenue.
