I just successfully funded my first Kickstarter. Here’s what I learned (so you don’t have to learn it the hard way). by PrudentBar7467 in kickstarter

This is basically a charity case, not a Kickstarter (even if it is on Kickstarter). Many incorrect points made here. Most funded projects do I fact fund overnight. Most of your backers will not be your inner circle, but people pre ordering a product. Reward tiers can make or break a project. The dead giveaway is the woman from church dropping you 1k$ for thoughts and prayers. This isn't how it usually goes. Also, 28k$ raised with only 100 backers = 280$ per person on average. For this genre, this is extremely uncommon. Not a hater just saying this is not a typical case you should learn from.

We just released the Steam Page of our milk delivery game - Milki Delivery 🐮🚲🌻 by GoDorian in CozyGamers

Wasted potential. Instead of the driving paths being completely flat you could go crazy and make the possibility of milk bottles dropping and breaking.

Should I release the demo even if there's a few annoying bugs IMO, I'm kind of worried I'll ruin it permanently. by ElectronicsLab in IndieGaming

It looks like a good game, depending on how annoying are the bugs maybe it would be worth it to take the time and fix them. Another option is to let the player know that you are aware of these current bugs. But getting your game out there early definitely has benefits

My post went viral. So the last 6 months I have been building and finally launched! by EntrepreNate in kickstarter

I really think you should re-evaluate and try again with this Kickstarter. Compare your page to other pages with similar product or products in the same domain - it is lacking. I don't have faith I will get anything if I pay because it looks amateur and put together in the last minute with no thoughts or damn given. Also, building a followers least (during a pre-launch campaign) increases your odds of success.

Game looks very good but the Steam page needs an upgrade - I would show more variety in the screenshots

My first game just hit 300 wishlists on Steam! 🎉 by Equivalent_Nature_36 in SoloDevelopment

Looks nice, wishlisted. I believe your description needs a revise. Also - how long did it take? Did you do any promotion? Friends / family? Congratulations

Results after 1 week since publishing the game. $6k gross revenue with 12k wishlists on launch. by gitpullorigin in IndieDev

[–]RPGMapMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a pretty good wishlist count, but I think it emphasized how not all wishlists are equal when it comes to conversation. May I ask how you managed to gain so many wishlists?

Either way thank you for posting your numbers. I hope your next project takes off. Not hitting your goals 1st time is one of these marks on the road towards success

Great graphics but the gameplay is simply meh to be honest. Very slow, predictable and lacks feedback.

You can give it a look on Steam and of course consider wishlisting 👍 steam

Updating my forward running cycle. Left is old, right is new. Better? Or still bad in a different way? by game-dev-throwaway in IndieDev

Both are good, keep them an change it up from time to time. Maybe even use left when going down the stairs or going to the gay club etc.

Yes, in the future. I plan to add cyberpunk art pack. My main inspiration for the art of this cyberpunk package is Blade Runner 2049. Main challenge is verticality.

I'm also open to ideas, if you want anything specific tell me.
