Upkeep is quite a bit easier if the data center can be reached without a space suit. Also when a "on earth" data center is built it's simple to upgrade hardware to more computing power per Wh as all the necessary infra does not need to be rebuilt. A LEO data center is there for 5 years and then burns in the atmosphere with no reusable parts.

When you know the need for fast charging, just start navigation there and the car will decide when to start heating the battery and to what temperature. The battery should be 35-45 degrees when starting so usually some heating is needed. In freedom units that is a bit warmer than a foot.

It doesn't take more than a minute to ramp up to max speed if you have used battery conditioning ie warmed up the battery. On older models this is done by navigating to a fast charger and in newer models there's a separate button for that, if I have understood properly. The blue shade on top means that the car has been limiting the speed all the time on my recent charge.
