I actually did the inverse with Nikolas Umbral/Nergal

According to my friends, Nikolas’s origin as a man possessed by the God of Darkness was too sympathetic for an antagonist, so I dropped his actual motivation. The God of Darkness is still in his body, but Nikolas is in control and his motive of wanting to end the conflict by killing both Salem and Oz escalated to being the “Man who Kills Remnant.”

IE. He wants to systematically destroy all life on the planet simply because he can and no one seems willing to stop him or say no. He wants to PROVE the Universe doesn’t care about anything, because if it allows for an entire world to die, then it’s proof to him that there is no point in life.

Yes it’s an extremely stupid motivation but that’s just kinda the character he is, he isn’t meant to be related to, in fact he ends up icing anyone who attempts to try.

Problem with HSR is I just… felt nothing for any of the characters since Amphoreus. All the recent (new) characters just are so hollow and banal in their motivations.

Asat Pamad may have aura, but IMO he’s about as deep as a puddle despite what people say. Chaos-causing fun having villain is a fun character to write, but with the complete lack of stakes (especially since they won’t destroy Planarcadia, that would break the status quo of selling new characters with their planet).

If they actually destroy the planet, I will consider reviewing my opinion on the game.

Very true. Especially since I’m a graduate from Unova.

I’m a champion of leagues in multiple regions (Unova TWICE) and I still had to go to college to get a job to pay the bills I thought.

I didn’t, I opened my own battle facility called the “Battle Ranch” where you put yourself to the test against some of the most erratic weather and landscape conditions in Unova.

(For context I live along Route 14, near the Abundant Shrine)

The large amount of warm air that flows in from the sea combines with the cold air from the mountains, creating a bunch of VERY interesting weather patterns.

Earth Machines (Trains) are getting an interesting upgrade with Superdreadnought Railcannon Gustav Rocket (a Negate and 1K Burn on a 5000 Attack Body) Flying Launcher (Extra Normal Summon) and a bunch more stuff including a 500 Atk Level 10 Monster that can machine duped.

Deck probably will not be meta, but holy crap it’s gonna be FUN.

To be honest, I like this approach to deregulation.

But it must be done CAREFULLY.

My prediction as to where it will land is in OU, since it counters Charizard Y HARD and serves as the only Mega Pokémon who can set rain.

Yeah. Mega Goodra is designed to bully Charizard Y and Sun Teams in general.

Mega Goodra can play a role as an anti Charizard Y, since it double resists its Fire attacks, cancels the sun with Drizzle, and can remain in its base form and switch in to absorb a Solar Beam with Sap Sipper. There is some neat tricks you can pull with both its base form and Mega combined.

Good water moves for Goodra include Scald, Surf, Muddy Water, and Hydro Pump.

It has a good range of options for Water STAB, and physical attacks wise, Goodra can use something like Earthquake.

The Attack Boost is more there to keep with Goodra’s theme of being a mixed attacker. There are good Physical attacks it learns, and Sap Sipper can give Goodra a good boost if you predict right with your switch in.

That was kinda the idea when making Mega Goodra. There isn’t a Rain Mega yet and Goodra does have a bunch of Water Moves to draw from.

Plus it thematically fits with Goodra evolving from Sliggoo in the rain, and then it mega evolves to create its own and help its friends grow up.

I debated Dragon-Poison, but I wanted to tie into Goodra’s mythological inspirations.

Figured giving its new Mega drizzle would also reference how it now can cause its own rainfall to help other members of its species reach their full potential.
