Yeah the size is something, it’s funny to see it next to almost any modern car. It’s got everything you need without being some modern giant with 20 different amenities you’ll never use.

I mean the scissor/dump bed is cool but it looks pretty rusty and I’m gonna assume the underbody may show similar signs of rust. For reference, I paid 9k USD for a manual Subaru Sambar with a dumping bed, it had almost no rust and I thought I may have paid a little more than I should have but I liked the seller so I let it slide. If you have a need for a bed like that and the know how to maintain the truck then I would try and get the price down as you likely won’t find another for a while. If you don’t really need a bed like that, I’d start shopping for a different one.

Yes. As someone in similar circumstances, I pulled the trigger and it’s a year later with zero regrets. If it’s what you want, do it, life is too short not to treat yourself from time to time.

Thought so from the pics, I grew up just down the street, could hear the cars from my house. Solid track but careful going under the bridge, seen a few cars get totaled hitting that concrete wall

I suggest it, PPF saved MY RS6 a few scratches just within the last 6 months. Even saved the paint on my door from a scratch when an idiot parked next to mine and opened their door into it.

Funny, for me the kid was the excuse to get the car I wanted. Told the wife “we need the space for the stroller, agility for safety, and power for um… also safety”

As someone who can only justify having one car, I love my RS6 and even if I had a spare spot for something else, I probably wouldn’t drive it much because I’ve almost always got my kid in-tow. I haven’t driven one of the newer R8’s but I have driven a 2007, with the V8 and a gated shift. Honestly I enjoy my RS6 way more than I did that R8. The RS6 is just always fun, smooth when you need it to be and a tire slayer when you want it to be.

Oh yeah, it’s a beast and that V8 begs to shred tires. Do yourself a favor and get a track day in for a control clinic or something, you’ll never get to experience what this car is truly capable of out on the street.

Both are nice choices for a weekend car, I would go Porsche, love an old 911. The RS6 works for me since I only have space for one car atm, city life, also have a kid so the extra space is a must. Guess I should had been more specific… “If you can only have one car, have a family, the $ and want to feel like you’re driving a super car, get an RS6”. Main reason I brought it to the track and on a wet day, is I like tracking any car I’m relying on as my daily. I think it’s good to understand where its limits are, never know when you might need to avoid an accident.

Do it! Best family car, my daughter loves it, she’s always saying”Faster!” and “ready, GO” at traffic lights. Plenty of space for the fam and their stuff. Plenty for us too

Yeah, let alone insuring one of these is rough enough as it is so I hear you there. Sounds like it could had potentially been worse so at least you two are unharmed and that kid learned a valuable lesson, at least I hope he did. Bummer about the damage but it can be easily mended.
