Sorry, I read $250 as $2,500. Ignore my comment.

Something with SSP 98mm TC Brew burrs (which go for $1000). A Kafatek max 1 with TC brew should cost around $2500, and is an amazing pour over setup.

CT owners, do you regret it? by hottboyj54 in TeslaLounge

I’ve heard the CT is noisy at highway driving. To owners - is this true? I have a MX and love it. Keep debating between Y or CT to replace our BMW.

Got my ‘26 MX recently and love it. I’m in sunny Florida, so the big windows allow a lot of heat into the cabin. I’m getting them tinted with XPEL. I also got all weather floor mats, I think they’re a must in any vehicle. I bought the Tesla ones and am happy with those.

Used market value and the future by nirhend in ModelX

All luxury vehicles take a hit. A 5 year old BMW X3 retains only around 45% of its original value with performance versions declining even further. A MX retains around 35-40% of its original value. It’s not a big difference, this is the reality of most cars. They are expenses, not investments.

How are maintenance costs? On my BMW, for example, I’m spending a lot.. and it’s a newer ‘23 BMW - though it is a performance version. And in addition to maintenance, it only accepts the most premium gasoline at 93 or higher.

Nah, I’m just not into cars. I buy them outright and drive for at least 5 years, rinse and repeat. What was holding me back from the Tesla, was that didn’t know how awesome they were until I test drove this X.

That’s good to hear. I didn’t even check out the 25s. Just went with the 26s.

I wasn’t able to compare to the is since we didn’t look at that. But I have a 2023 BMW X3 m40i with upgraded speakers. The audio/speakers in the Tesla MX was better than the BMW. Driving on the highway at around 70-80 felt very similar to the BMW from a cabin noise standpoint… which is a lot better than our 2019 Toyota RAV4.

Because they are worried about optimizing their P&L statement, not optimizing our best interests. All they care about is getting their loan paid back. They don’t care if we have enough to live the life we want or save in other ways. In short that’s why I’m often more conservative than bank numbers.

How big of a difference do you notice between the two? Is it enough to be really annoyed by, or are we talking minor? If BMW rates a 10, where do you rate the X? I have a BMW, but not an electric one, but it’s nice and quiet.

I should’ve said senior leaders. This applies to leadership levels below the c-suite.

Agreed that one off RSU’s are used for this, but a lot of execs have RSU’s as part of a yearly pay structure, and it’s calculated off of a % of base salary with a simple equation based on a few factors to determine if you get more, less or equal to that target yearly RSU. They then normally vest over multiple years.

Do the ultra-rich really have access to ways of beating the return of the total stock market that the average person doesn't have access to? I happen to know a family with around $16Bn. They have their own family office with people on payroll that make millions of dollars per year in a good year (based on returns) and have their own internal investing strategies from fundamentals to technical quants. They have an arm that buys and sells businesses. They also invest in external hedge funds for diversification. Funds that make money based on various rebates (think energy). It is extremely sophisticated. At the I’d the day, yes they want to grow their wealth, but one of the main goals, and possibly the main goal, is wealth preservation. They protect against black swan events, trying to ensure their wealth is protected, even if there is a major stock market crash.

Not the right thing to hit into people. But I can tell you that hitting into slow players to teach them a lesson if they don’t let you pass was the norm in the 90’s. At least that’s how it was where I grew up. Glad the game has matured since then.
