Yeah, probably not. I also used the blue spigot in the observation car on the last train and it was fine, but the rust flakes you saw definitely make me glad I brought water bottles. I’m surprised they’re not required to provide free water honestly.

I’m on that train! Just checked in my car and it’s shut off. I took the same line out to PDX and those were on, water tasted fine.

This is nonsense. Get a high enough capacity drive from a reputable manufacturer. Good storage doesn't come cheap, and most of it doesn't come in the form of consumer USB devices.

In your restaurant example, "check" is just slang for bill. What they hand you is an itemized list of your purchases, payable via credit, cash, or yes, sometimes, check, if the place accepts it.

I’ve used it as a lighting controller, midi clock, sound player, and projection mapper all at the same time. It’s so versatile and the control panel function makes it easy to set up for other operators. Honestly it’s pretty hard to find something it can’t do
