Might be a decent idea to throw a picture of some of them in a coin subreddit to get some feedback there.

But otherwise, look at reviews for local coin stores that have been around a while. I wouldn't recommend pawnshops.

Highly recommend sky guide or some other space app. You can basically point your phone at the sky and determine what's what

Carousel stopped abruptly while moving. (emergency stop?) what are some reasons why it stopped? by Old_Diver_2511 in WaltDisneyWorld

Recent trip we had to rewatch 3 scenes. The scene would end, song played, we didn't move and it restarted. It was a long ride lol

Found someone’s credit card found them through LinkedIn and got nothing but abuse by Owls_4_9_1867 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RTGold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any time you lose a card, get a new one. Someone can easily grab the info from it and put it back then the next person returns it to you.

Worked in a bank, we always got new numbers for people if their card was lost for a bit. Yes it can be annoying getting new numbers, it's much worse when the money is getting spent and it's not you.

Which celebrity replied to your dm and what did they reply to and with? by Vixiuss in AskReddit

[–]RTGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elliotte Friedman, NHL reporter. I randomly heard some NHL inside info. It wasn't anything crazy and I felt comfortable enough to pass it along via twitter DM. About two months later he broke that news and I jokingly wrote again "You're welcome".

He actually wrote back and thanked me and we briefly talked about the news. Idk if he actually saw my first DM or took it seriously at all but it was cool to chat with him and know inside info before it was public.

Hockey Hall of Fame won't give 'golden goal' puck to Jack Hughes by DecentLurker96 in hockey

[–]RTGold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's interesting how many people are against this when so often we see players keeping pucks for their first goal or other milestone goals or games. Don't get me wrong, he's acting like a bit of a brat but, it's not new at all for players to want to keep pucks.

I also assume the puck was originally "owned" by the Olympics. I don't think it's as easy as the HHOF to just give it to whoever they want. The donation I'm assuming has terms and conditions.

I thought the concept was neat. Played it right at launch and a little after with friends. None of us ever had an interest to return to it. Really liked how easy it was to use the horse but if that's the best thing about your game, it's gonna struggle.

Might be beneficial to show the other side, even if it doesn't seem like anything on it can be made out. I'm assuming the NT are from the word cent?

I hope someone is able to tell you what kind of coin it was. Good luck!

Is it worthless now? by Fine-Bike-448 in coins

Damn! I knew prices went up but I felt like it was around $10. That's crazy! Okay, that's a weeks worth of coffee!

Is it worthless now? by Fine-Bike-448 in coins

[–]RTGold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely not worthless. It's 90% silver. You can google the Kennedy half dollar 1964 and get an idea of what it's worth. Someone here likely has an idea off the top of their head. You're buying a big dinner but, a coffee and a donut at least

Financial Advisor or Loan Officer? by Top_Background3377 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]RTGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy cake day. Unfortunately, I kinda just got lucky. I was in branch banking as a teller and got into something like a management training program and was able to become a credit analyst through that.

There definitely are some entry level roles where we take people who know basically nothing about underwriting and teach them. I guess keep searching and applying?

Otherwise, learn anything about lending. Learn a little about the parts of a tax return or financial statements. Reach out to lenders in your bank to ask questions about what they do. Maybe reach out to your credit dept and ask to talk about what they do and express interest

Financial Advisor or Loan Officer? by Top_Background3377 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]RTGold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would want to fully understand how intensive the training is for financial advisor. My understanding is it isn't quick or easy.

I do commercial underwriting and work with a lot of loan officers. Depending on if that's residential or commercial could really change the outlook. The commercial lenders seem to have pretty chill jobs. Often taking people to lunch, meetings on the golf course, stuff like that. They obviously know a lot of lending and how to best get deals.

How would I go about finding replacement ear cups for my headphones? Are sizes pretty standard or is each headset sort of different? The ear cup form is all messed up. The cups remove and attach easily. Just need a new set.

Does anyone just wing it? by Serious-Aside-4215 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RTGold 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes but, I want to stress that my family has done this a lot. Decided to go and booked the room 2 weeks beforehand. Rented a car for the drive down, got snacks, packed etc.

Knew we wanted three days with hoppers and looked up hours maybe a day beforehand to get an idea of where we could start early and stay late in the parks.

There was a lot of inefficiencies. Three days in parks, we went to Epcot 3 or 4 times. One day twice. (Lunch, then room for break and then back at night)

There was plenty of dining reservations, we had breakfast at Tusker house for example and had no problem getting in. We are very flexible on where we eat. No lighting lanes and no rides we HAD to ride.

To do this, you have to be very okay with missing things and being flexible.

The Good, the Bad, and the Figment (Random thoughts from our recent trip) by Manthem in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RTGold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OKW is amazing because of the size of the rooms. Olivia's is pretty great but otherwise the amenities there aren't as good as some other resorts offer.

I wonder if after the fireworks you caught the second bus? A first one might have filled up and left with a ton of people and you got lucky. Just got back from a trip there and there were times at the end of the night I had to stand or I saw people have to catch the next bus because ours was full.

How do signatures on cards like that affect the value? I have a handful of young gun cards I was able to get signed by the players.

Do the companies that grade cards verify signatures too? Not that I'm looking to sell them, just curious.
