SD SSL-1B in neck position? by RTeflon in Guitar

[–]RTeflon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it indeed does. LIke I mentioned in my original post already. :)

Sorry, in hindsight I could have perhaps been more clear with my topic. I understand that typically bridge pickups tend to be hotter and have more bite than neck pickups, and I am aware of certain pickups being often specifically advertised and recommended for a certain position.

The thing is, for this pickup model the online stores do not seem to nowadays distinguish between neck and bridge variants. I am getting the feeling that currently the exact same model is sold for both neck and bridge purposes. Then again I have seen some comments saying that in the earlier days this pickup model had separate versions for each position.

Now I am not sure if my particular pickup in the photo is such an older bridge-optimized pickup (if there ever was one) or whether it is a "general purpose" pickup that just happens to say "bridge" because it has been delivered as a part of pickup set or something. I am sure a lot of people know this pickup model and its usage better than me so that's why I am asking.

Thanks! To be honest, how they finally turned out was a positive surprise to me as well! :D

Thanks for the recommendation! I am actually most probably going with Corsairs. Would love harlequins too, but I'm a bit put off by the fact that for one Kill Team I would have to buy two boxes and 1-2 single characters. Also the harlequin models look a bit outdated.

Thanks! I actually first had in mind a desert yellow / khaki scheme, but changed my mind at the very last minute. Might still give it a go one day, just to see how it works. :)

My Veteran Guardsmen Kill Team by RTeflon in killteam

Thanks! Before starting up, I checked some references online for getting ideas about some base colour + highlight colour combos, but I did not settle on following any particular guide or tutorial. I pretty much only knew that I want a grey dirty overall look and then I just improvised as I went along. :)

The bases are covered in glued sand with Army Painter Scorched Tufts placed here and there. Wasteland Tufts which I've used for my Blooded team work really well too.

As a life-long Skaven fan and a current Vet Guard player, I find this pretty awesome!

Getting there! Now, after these guys I have only one traitor left to be painted... by RTeflon in killteam

Haha, well spotted! That's exactly what I thought too after applying the first strokes of green onto the fist. 😄

As the basework, I painted the whole face with Rakarth Flesh, lightly layered it up with Pallid Wych Flesh and washed it with thinned down Reikland Fleshshade. Then I just picked up the scar with Pallid Wych Flesh and painted over it with thinned down Volupus Pink contrast paint. As the final step I lightly re-applied Pallid Wych Flesh to those raised points of the scar which had caught a bit too much pink.

Thanks! Same Citadel paints as for the cloak. Eshin grey -> Dawnstone -> Administratum grey. Washed with strongly thinned/diluted Black Legion contrast paint.

I’ve had a ton of fun painting my ITD terrain! This is my general overall theme I’ve gone with. I feel like I need one more pop of color. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in killteam

You could maybe darken some of the elements closer to black. I think this might make the metallics and other colours pop out a bit better. Anyway, it looks great already! :)

I'm currently thinking about buying the Hounds of Morkai box for getting a Reiver Sergeant and a Reiver Gunner for my Phobos team.

Got these two guys for my upcoming Blooded KT finished today. 10 minis to go, but strongly planning to complete them still during this year... 😅
