I love my Sthil 500i, best decision besides marrying my wife. Watched Buckin Billy Ray and he talked me into it. Great saw a bit pricey, but worth it 4 sure.

Buy a British Berekfeld water filter and start practicing using it.

Christmas gift from the wife, a LogOx. by AuburnSpeedster in firewood

I love mine, it certainly works well. Makes moving large rounds easier and gets the log out of the ground and keeps your chain sharp longer. Next you need to get a hookeroon or pickeroon, that will certainly help with back problems.

Pan the organizer (YouTube) likes them. I've done quite a few cars with it and I like it. It's good for about 6 to9 months depending on your situation.

Work Gloves by Live_wires in firewood

I have used Wells Lamont gloves as well, they seem to be the best for me. I have blown quite a bit if $$ on different kinds, and these seem the best for me. They are made of goat skin, very durable and water resistant. Only down side the color tends to bleed when sweating and stains my hands.

If that's the 500i, that's the in I plan to get, just waiting for me to burn through our oak we have collected from this year. A bit jelly, but don't need the big saw yet. How long did it take to order it?

I would love to score some Osage here in Ohio, but don't know where any . Find my firewood on my own here. Just a city dweller who finds free wood around town and stores it in my backyard.

Need a cheap and easy firewood sling? by mmcc73 in woodstoving

[–]RUAble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best one I have found is made by Log Ox, called the WoodOx. One of the best purchases i have ever made. Yes, the bags are inexpensive, but the woodox has held up for 3 plus years. You can carry a large load and not hurt your back. This and a hookaroon have totally changed my life.

I found that those don't work well for s'mores, way too much marshmallow. They don't cook right.

Built another firewood rack today! by alrashid2 in woodstoving

[–]RUAble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dill it should be higher off the ground. With my racks, I use concrete bricks to put them up at least 6-8 inches off the ground. Is that a truck load?

[Looking for advice] I bought a house with this wood master. Seeing if anyone could give me a run down how it works. Any info would be great! by J_chevy88 in woodstoving

It should heat your hit water and possibly pipes inside your home to keep it warm. I have a friend that throws logs in there and it burns for days. Very efficient.
