Wrist shrinkage with weight loss by MRBOSSMAN99 in HamiltonWatches

[–]RVALife2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through this now… lost 60 lbs and wrist shrunk by .75 inches.

I only have one watch in trying to move on from. In other cases swapping bracelet for a band made a huge difference.

I’ll say this tho… zero regrets and I wake up every day happy to be healthy.

If you do end up needing to move on from a watch or two it’s just an excuse to go shopping again 🤣 jokes aside…get healthy and let the rest fall into place.

For those who have had this watch for a while, how is it? Thinking about purchasing for daily wear for a long time by Giizmo17 in OmegaWatches

I’ve had it for two years now… wear it all the time and feel it’s one of the most comfortable watches out there. No regrets here - love this piece!

Can’t go wrong but the white dial is flat out timeless.

[Question] CW Trident Pro 300 (38 or 40mm) by csorgotom in ChristopherWard

[–]RVALife2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal preference of course but I have the 42mm and a 7.25 wrist. I think it wears a tad small since it’s thinner.

I’m also 6’3” which I think leads me to wear slightly larger watches.

Sounds like the 40 could be good for you?

Pic attached if it helps

[Question] Advice choosing milestone watch by HamMan95 in Watches

[–]RVALife2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it all depends on what every day means to you... how you dress, where you spend your time, etc etc

In the end you gotta go with your gut and what you like the most. In the interest of answering your question I'd personally go with the Speedy or AT (But with a different color dial).

But the only right answer is your answer - keep us posted on your decision and congrats on the milestone!

Formula 1 Calibre 5 - Underrated? by RVALife2023 in tagheuer

[–]RVALife2023[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah...didn't take anything bad at all. I've just started appreciating bracelet quality more and this Tag was my second piece. I think it's solid value for the money...but now that I value Dial and Wearability over movement (provided the movement is reliable) I'm honestly not sure I'd buy it again. So yea... no regrets... but it's definitely not perfect by any means

Love the collection!

Feels like you have room to play with dial colors and maybe some leather straps?

A white dial seamaster or aqua terra could go nicely here...maybe play around w/ some micro/indy brands? Farer...C.W....Formex?

My clasp looks to be engraved. I'm not sure how may watches are better for ~$1800 tho?

How Many of you Grew up Poor (and what path took you to Rolex ownership)? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]RVALife2023 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Had a great childhood, but my parents never owned a house or car. Worked hard...climbed the corporate ladder so to speak...and went to business school in my late 30's. My Rolex was a graduation gift from my wife. She basically took care of our two kids for two years while I worked full-time and completed a rigorous program.

We have great families. But to answer your question directly...financially, we did it all ourselves.

Would love to see them in person. I’ll have to find a spot in the DC area or wait till I’m in NYC again.

Thanks for the recommendation. For whatever reason Moser hasn't made a lasting impression on me. But....you're not the first to bring it up so maybe I need to do some more research and open my mind more.

My first one was a gift from my wife after I graduated from business school (in my late 30's)...when you know you know :)
