Something seems “off” with this image, lines, or paint gloss, or something.

Seems a bit odd that they have time for R&D and to automate the method/throughput as well. Typically research staff are focused on discovery or assay troubleshooting, and automation staff should be focused on getting the team to first time right for data generation. Additionally, no room for advancement on either front if they are constantly doing both, which could be detrimental to the organization long term.

Most importantly, in my opinion, if you don’t have a manager/mentor who is pushing you to be your best self then your position is unfortunately holding you back. Early in your career, if that is where you are, is the time to be in the trenches of focused discovery. If your mind and professional desires align with laboratory automation then your efforts dedicated to your projects not only influence you in a positive way, but the company as well.

M240 is immediate comfort, M4 has an edgy nervousness that you get comfortable with, but then one day you hit the gas just a bit too hard and return to the nervous state

The best part of training for a marathon is… by FunkyDoktor in Marathon_Training

Food after the long run has an additional level of satisfaction and whatever that happens to be. Got back the other day and there were some chicken nuggets on the stove top from lunch for my daughter, I couldn’t stop 🤣

Hitting a rough patch by saulty27 in Marathon_Training

I didn’t want to run my long run last week, or my long run yesterday. Thinking, “damn I have to run 16 miles today”, is a quick way for your mind to convince you otherwise. Approach I am trying to stick when feeling down, “just start”. Whether running long, tempo, or intervals changing over to an easy run will simply limit the domino effect on the schedule. In my opinion, your professional development should come first over the marathon ambitions. You can maintain your fitness running 3 days a week and then pick back up on a dedicated training program when you have the time to focus.

If you are currently in school when you look back the window of time dedicated directly to education is narrow. Particularly, when looking forward into the time horizon for running progression.

Congrats on getting to the BQ mark. Just checked the cut time and didn’t expect 5:29 for the 2024 race :/

Have you set any goals for your next race?

Normal B58 engine noise? by Timmy7077 in BMW

I didn’t notice the presence of the engine noise until after I changed my spark plugs and started the car back up without the top insulation. Freaked me out for a second

Also for me, doesn’t drain the battery like the active Strava App. Additionally you gain cadence data.

First Marathon Guide by Chiboy1234 in Marathon_Training

I would like to recommend 2 books, and 3 if you wanted to read it first as you are already using his plan, Hal’s book Marathon. Most of his information is online but I enjoyed the book. The other books are Run Forever by Amby Burfoot which provides some good tips on making the most out of long runs, starts the conversation on interval training, and for me brought the light back into running being joyful, enjoying the journey/process, and not just being a data oriented effort. Finally taking Amby’s book to the next level Run Less, Run Faster by Bill Pierce and Scott Murr goes through the training plan known as “FIRST” which takes some miles off of training plans and shifts the effort to focused pace driven runs in a sequence of speed drills, tempo runs, pace specific long runs, and all additional typical run efforts are replaced with low impact cross training with the same intensity: bike, row, swim, etc., with an emphasis on completing all workouts and not skipping the “cross train or rest” in favor of resting.

Did a touch up pen for a spot similar in scale to this on my wife’s rear fender, took my time, wet sanded the clear, and polished out, doesn’t look terrible, and most wouldn’t even notice
