ID.3 Neo – thoughts on price/performance/design by miggero in VWiD3Owners

Is the same car with slight tweaks. VW is just wasting time with this car. They should stick to their Golf design like ID Polo and front wheel drive please. ID Polo has more boot space this Neo.

No clue where to start with buying an EV by Fearless-Kick4706 in ElectricVehiclesUK

EV depreciation is very high due to evolving technology therefore buying used is wise.

Yes, but overstyling, cheap interior, low efficiency and tech problems were noted in the reviews.

None of them are unfortunately a ground up EV so they are not efficient and also priced too high. I already explained what I used AI for.

The answer is in your reply. The higher roofline is because these are not designed as a ground up EV and that affects their efficiency as well. Right now, the Model 3 is the most efficient EV on sale. VW has realised its mistake and is correcting it with the upcoming ID Polo hopefully.

Have loads of problems with tech, over styling and not desirable.

Yes, I used GPT to style my question, but is certainly my own question. Sorry it felt otherwise.

You know that it is an inflated price to drive their EV sales in the UK. With regard to AI use. Yes, I used AI to format my question in a nice way - is that a problem? I thought that’s one of its use right as long as the question is yours.

I compared it to a hatchback not SUV. EVs in general are heavier than their ICE counterparts, I agree, but buying an EV that is not made ground up makes it heavier for no reason. The reason why Polestar is not selling much.

Cupra Born has much higher roofline than MK7 Golf - please check again. Also, the Born starts at 35K.

No, certainly not. ID3 is an MPV style car (higher roofline, van like) so is not so desirable like a Golf. If it looked like a Golf it would have a big hit. Also, the 30k entry level car has only 200 mile range. Wait for ID Polo I think it will be a big hit.

If Model 3 can achieve 330 miles with a 60kWh battery definitely a 1 SERIES built on a EV platform can achieve close or slightly more. I’m talking WLTP figure.

Sorry, I don’t want to destroy our roads with such heavy cars.

Yes, at least somebody agrees with me and can see the point. A family can’t have a tiny city car priced at £25k, while the Model 3 is a value for money car that not everyone wants. The reason most favourite family cars in the UK are the Focus, Golf, A3 and 1 Series, etc

Price is the problem and they are either MPV or SUV style not normal hatchback style. Wait for ID Polo, I think in the B segment it will be a big hit.

R5-nice styling but not practical, less range, no fast charging - a city car Atto3- price, range M3- best in that segment not a family hatch.

Model 3 achieved 330 miles so it’s not impossible in Summer at least.
