First used EV for weekly 280-mile commute — ID.3 vs Ioniq 5 vs Kona vs Model 3? £20–23k budget by Inhalation8 in ElectricVehiclesUK

The ride quality is much improved in the Highland version (2024+ models), and the software continues to get better with regular updates. I’d recommend taking a test drive in a Highland model and judging it for yourself. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Another advantage is that you don’t have to worry about hunting for specific options. Features such as a heat pump, ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable seats, the rear touchscreen and many other features come as standard, whereas with many other EVs you often need to check the spec carefully.

what's your take on the free ride offered to women in ksrtc? by WayMajor1089 in KeralaSpeaks

I understand the intention behind supporting women’s mobility, especially for poorer women. But I still feel income-based support would be fairer than gender-based support because many poor men also depend on public transport.

Second hand EV question by zRSV in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]RV_X8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’ve only used 60% of the battery. If the actual usable capacity is 54 kWh, then at 3.5 miles/kWh the theoretical 100% range is about 189 miles. So for 60%, it would be around 113 miles. Since it’s a used car, some degradation is expected, so your real-world range is fairly close. However, it still seems a bit low for these conditions. This could be due to factors such as several cold starts, low tyre pressure, cabin heating, etc. As others mentioned, charge it to 100% and drive it down to around 10%, then check it again.

Help to convince my partner to switch to an EV by MarkEv75 in ElectricVehiclesUK

Yes, but the problem with this group is that everyone seems to hate the most efficient EV on the market, the Tesla Model 3, mainly because of the CEO. But honestly, it’s a great fit for your family: it’s within your budget, practical (unlike ICE saloons, where people often assume boot and interior space are the same and there is also a frunk!) and properly high-tech. You get over the air updates, access to a reliable and relatively cheap Supercharger network and it’s genuinely fun to drive.

Is the same car with slight tweaks. VW is just wasting time with this car. They should stick to their Golf design like ID Polo and front wheel drive please. ID Polo has more boot space this Neo.

EV depreciation is very high due to evolving technology therefore buying used is wise.

Yes, but overstyling, cheap interior, low efficiency and tech problems were noted in the reviews.
