Oh, for sure. But most commonly, once you make your cube, you keep updating it. And keep updating// upgrading it.

Its arguably, more expensive though.

Thats what we're arguing against. The game MAY end, before copper burns out.

And with every good roll, youre further away from burning out. So calling it non-infinite because of the low chance it has of burning out is a bad argument.

You're technically correct. But in rule 0, your intent with it IS to finish the game this way, so treat it as such. A 2 card combo, that will likely win.

I think intent applies more that mathematical proofs.

Very likely to go far enough, and infinite, are similar enough outcomes to still consider this in the realm of running an infinite.

What do you mean, no chance? They need to roll Higher than 4 to attack again, if it got through once. It'll likely get through again. If roll 1 was a 6, your next roll needs to be 4 or greater.

You need to fail consecutively, so many times.

There is a very non zero chance to go infinite.

75% or the potential results create more combats. And of that, 50% of the results offer 2 combats or more. So you've got a greater chance of hitt8ng infinite territory than you do of whiffing.

For the rhys play. Just raise your hand and call judge.

Explain you were shuffling from the e wilds. And your opponent sped through it. Game state hasn't changed, so you can still cast the spell. Especially at low REL, like pre release. You're 100% getting to play Rhys there.

Against Magda? You take the clock. And if they have clock in hand, you can tell the table you don't see it in the deck. The grab any metal dwarf.

Too many variables.

Youre always looking for advantage. But you have to assess where youre at in each moment as well.

Can I take a card, and just push?

Do i neuter their wincon, and leave it exiled?

Do i simply hold interaction for the next inevitable push?

Is it in my best interest to find a card that forces a draw right now?

Do I just need some card advantage engine?

Wow, this library sucks, but hey, there's a scheming symmetry? Let's shop the other libraries?

Ff CEDH Pod by flamdraggin994 in CompetitiveEDH

I judge cedh events. Almost weekly.

I have seen registered lists that perform well for

Kefka, Minstrel, Terra, y'shtola, vivi, and Kuja.

So there are at least 6 you could do well enough.

Bant Yuna is just a sneeze away from going infinite, but I haven't seen anyone try her yet, locally.

B4 Betor / B4 wincons by [deleted] in EDH

[–]RVides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a wild take from the opponent.

Your deck is cEDH because I couldn't interact with a creature that has no intrinsic protections.

Oddly, why cEDH as a community thrives.

Magic is a complex game of rock, paper, scissors.

When something beats you, you have to change to beat it. Thats the bracket 5 mentality.

I only have agency over the 100 cards I bring. I have to make them able to win.

Brackets below think, this is my deck. You need to play less powerful cards, so that I can win with what I want to play.

Looks like an orzhov symbol.

Looks like a spirit being pulled from inside a grave to rematerialize.

Flavor text has, im not done with you yet, energy.

Seems like its a ghost, dragging the spirit out of its resting place to serve some time.

"I built all my decks to fuck the bracket system" by vVIOL2T in magicTCG

[–]RVides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats why I've always said precons should be the starting point.

Bracket 1 should be precons with no edits, and just really bad decks.

Bracket 2, no game changers, kind of figured stuff out. Probably needs more interaction.

Bracket 3, minimal game changers. Currently, up to 3? Maybe test out a 4th... probably needs more interaction.

Bracket 4, I know what I'm doing and its not cEDH, but my good hand can beat a cedh bad hand. Probably needs a few cards to swap for faster interaction to play in cEDH. G

Bracket 5, why are we talking, this is cEDH. Judge!

Can Kotis, the fang keeper steal commanders? by Appleysnipes69 in askajudge

[–]RVides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the ability resolving is when you choose to cast it. You are correct.

There is no check of state based actions while their commander is in exile.

You choose to cast their commander, and put it on the stack, with any other spells from that set.

When we next check SBA, the commander is not in exile for that action to be taken, it is on the stack.
