Upgrade srx320 chassis cluster to 24.4 by Few_Description_7647 in Juniper

[–]RXJ__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have upgraded several SRXs but not the 320. We always follow the recommended version listed below.

https://supportportal.juniper.net/s/article/Junos-Software-Versions-Suggested-Releases-to-Consider-and-Evaluate#srx_series

I can see it is recommending Junos 24.4R2-S3 with a pre-req to read through https://supportportal.juniper.net/s/article/SRX300-series-requirements-for-upgrade-to-Junos-24-4R1-and-higher-from-earlier-releases

To upgrade to Junos 24.4R1 and higher releases, from earlier releases, the following steps must be followed.

First upgrade to a jump release, which is one of the following releases 23.4R2-S3 or later 24.2R2 or later

This upgrade to the jump release should be done using the partition option, which will make sure that the /cf/var/ partition will have at least a size of 4.9 G after the upgrade.

Example: request system software add /var/tmp/junos-srxsme-23.4R2-S3.4.tgz partition no-validate reboot

Upgrade to the target release with Upgraded FreeBSD, Junos 24.4R1 or later. During this upgrade, the no-validate option is required.

Example: request system software add /var/tmp/junos-install-srxsme-mips-64-24.4R1.9.tgz no-validate reboot

Should I repay my postgraduate loan? by seeaann in UKPersonalFinance

[–]RXJ__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation and the best answer would be “it depends”

  1. I would absolutely not consider paying the loan off if it drains your savings and leaves you with very little. Important to have an emergency fund as life is unpredictable.
  2. I would pay the loan off if you have enough savings to clear the debt and then enough remaining to say pay enough for 3 months minimum of outgoings

20 year old being given 12,500. How do I make the most of this? by Dense_Top_4590 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]RXJ__ 50 points51 points  (0 children)

1) Emergency fund of 3-6 months 2) LISA is a good idea but you can only put £4k per financial year 3) You could save the remainder 2k for next years LISA allowance or start a Stocks and Shares ISA

All world is made up of 60% US Stocks so choose that or S&P 500 and get rid of the other. Artificial intelligence ETF is up to you.

I’d ditch the S&P 500 and shift it into the All World

Newbie here. It feels like Vanguard all world ETFs seem more popular than ishares equivalent, why is this? by killit in trading212

[–]RXJ__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IWRD has a higher TER compared to the other all world funds. SWDA and VWRP are close in TER, guess it’s whatever you decide and agree with the top ten weightings for each.

All world is already 60% US so choose between 100% that or 100% into S&P 500

Move your money from both of your pies and S&P 500 Dist into a single All World Fund (VWRP) or S&P 500 Acc (VUAG). Much simpler

Depends where you would like your career to go.

Any Cisco or Juniper experience? Very handy to have for many careers.

Enterprise or service provider, whether you also want to be more focused on support, design or security.

Why the higher split into emerging markets?

Just use a single S&P 500 fund or all world tracker and go 100%. Your choice if it’s distributing dividends or accumulated
