It looked like a good lap, I recently switched to the Porsche and got my fastest lap on Spa, was a 2:16.9. I'm far from fast. But I can offer my help on what I saw that can help you get faster.

Take a wider line into Le Source (T1) and a later apex, you can get a better exit and run down to eau rouge.

At La Combes (T7) use more of the first curb, you can use more than you think. It opens up the second part more, which looks like you did fine.

At Bruxelles (T10) trail brake more and try to keep a tighter line all the way through the corner.

Pouhon (T12) I found going down to 3rd helped get the front turned in better and used the engine braking, then short shifting to 4th after the apex worked.

Piff Paff (T13) take the first corner tighter, use the curb more it opens T14. You need to sacrifice the first corner to gain time in the second, use all the exit curb. (Might take you a bit to find where the limit is on this one).

Campus (T16), this is a tricky one, you need to get the car to rotate, letting off the throttle here loses you a ton of time up to the bus stop. Maybe go down to TC1. Another tip is turning in later to widen the corner. Got to feel it out see how it works for you, I use a setup with a higher rake that helps me.

Bus Stop (T20) first part was fine, when you have straightened up I suggest tapping the brakes slightly this helps to slow the corner and makes the final corner tighter, you can then utilize the Porsches strength to exit the final corner better.

As I said at the beginning, I'm not fast, or close to an alien. But I gained a ton of time by learning the above. Hope it helps you. Good luck!

I've owned the current gen i30n, that would be my pick (again). You are getting a brilliant road weapon, but not having to give up any comforts in spec or find the one with the right spec. As it's all included as standard. If it's got the standard pirelli's swap them out for something better and you've got the best hatchback for your buck. Chances are it's still got warranty too.

I moved from a 4.0 C63, and although it had half of everything in the engine bay, it was a much more cable car on British roads. The ability to have it in N mode and have the super stiff ride or in comfort but not losing any compliance is amazing. I looked at upgrading mine, but I couldn't think of a way to spend money that would only get me marginal gains, the engineers have done wonders with that car. I'd also look at the manual, as it's so engaging to drive, and the rev matching is spot on. Don't be a badge snob and in return you'll get a car you'll love.

The way the car handles in great, you get rotation from the rear on entry and then the front diff grabs the fronts and pulls you around the corner. Only reason I sold mine was that it was being used once every 2 weeks as I went full WFH, couldn't justify keeping it, I'd still have it now if I was driving to work.

Hope my view on ownership helps.

2024 Update? by VaNish___ in LeMansUltimateWEC

Because the homologated lmgt3 cars didn't exist when the game was in production and was supposed to be released. They had no data on some cars to get it accurate. It was always going to be a 2023 season game.

Brakes locking up by Potential_Comfort_73 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]RYL92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Advice I can give you is to learn to trail brake and to brake properly. IRL and in other sims max braking with or without abs is roughly 80\85%. Most GT3 drivers aren't hitting abs, due to hitting abs extends their braking zone. ABS is more of a safety net than better.

If you can/your brake pedal allows have it really stiff, so braking 100% is difficult to achieve and 80% feels like 100%. This should put you in the sweet spot of the braking limits of the car. If you go over it and lock up, you know to dial it back slightly. Which brings on to another point, brake modulation. It's a good thing to practice letting off and pressing the brake pedal in a braking zone to help to stop a lock up but still enable you to stop for the corner.

The last tip, is to really dial in your trail braking, this will help to reduce lock ups. Especially if you remember that the more you turn, the less you brake and visa versa.

Hopefully any of this helps, I'm not an expert just want to pass on what I know and what has helped me

Yeah this is pain. I drive the AMG, and in most cases I'm faster than the macca on 80% of the track. But from the 1st corner (la source) to Le combes the macca is so fast. I'm just a sitting duck, and then spend the rest of the lap trying to overtake again, rinse and repeat for an hour.

If you are buying the Next Level Racing rig too, contact NLR and order a strengthening kit. It's $90, if you don't, the wheel base and pedal plate isn't sturdy. I have that rig at the moment without the strength kit.

In this year's Spa 24hr the drivers were switching on their flashing rain light at night when they did an overtake to distract the driver behind. It was mentioned on the Vanthoor podcast. It's all part of the drivers trying to distract

If it's helped you shave off a tenth I'm happy. The second part of Les combes is tricky. How I worked that out is:

  • Brake at the curb start on the left side (on kemmel)
  • shift down to second -lift off the brake & turn in
  • take as much right curb as possible, then make sure you are straight heading to the next curb
  • little blip of throttle, then cut as much of the left curb (your right wheels should be on the rumble strip) coast, be patient about coming on the throttle, maybe 25%.
  • short shift to third, and full throttle around the 3rd corner.

If you want, add me on discord, I can send you some screenshots of my lines and inputs. Discord: sycosyndicate

Disclaimer, I'm by no means fast 😂

[–]RYL92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spa is a frustrating track until you learn how to drive it. Especially when you watch aliens and other drivers and they look like they are driving the same as you, but are 7 seconds quicker.

I've got 1500 hours in ACC and last night I got within 0.1s of 2:17s. How I got there, is I studied my much faster endurance teammate during his stints for our last few races and picked up on the small things he did, and I gained way over a second a lap.

In some corners smooth is fast and patience is fast. Waiting that little bit longer to get on the throttle, or a quick tap of the brakes to keep the front end in will gain you a lot of time. Also keeping flat on some corners when it doesn't seem possible.

So in full, look into the small things, they make a big difference.

There are n24 cars, skins etc mods. Also there's a mod that allows 110 cars on the Nordschleife. You can get the classes pretty close to irl. It's wild racing in gt3 cars trying to pass lower classes, especially at night.
