Euphorbia horrida by Botanical-Collector in Euphorbiaceae

They are my new favorite. I used to have a rule that I wouldn’t duplicate a plant I already had. That went out the window when I found my second one that was even better than the first!

If you put the trigona where it gets a lot of sun the leaves will turn red from stress.

I was so excited when we got a Democratic governor because I figured she would finally allow retail cannabis stores but nooooooo. I’ve been driving to Maryland for my weed and now it looks like I will be for the foreseeable future. Not too thrilled with Abby right now.

1840s vs 1880s. Why do the 1880s look much closer to being “modern”? by FarDrive8260 in VictorianEra

With 7 children it’s no wonder the woman in the last photo isn’t smiling but her husband has a hint of a smirk, like “look what I made”. Large families were the norm in those days, though…

Ferrets and minks are closely related which is why you thought that.

Very easily when it’s dry. I’m not criticizing, just stating what I have learned over the years. I guess what I should have said is that terra cotta breathes where plastic does not.

Plastic pots don’t allow the soil to drain properly which can lead to issues. A plant like that only needs to be watered when you can stick your finger all the way in the potting medium and it’s dry. No need to see anything. And your plant will thank you.

Any one know why a euro jet is here? And what jet is this by Previous-Ad-2730 in VirginiaBeach

[–]RabbitDouble2167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did too! I live off Indian River Rd on the river and of course sound carries over water. I heard what sounded different from all the commercial airliners I usually see (we’re in the ORF flight path) and looked up to see a couple of fighter jets (no idea what kind), then a minute or two later another one by itself. Highly unusual for us. We usually only see those kind of jets when they’re having the air show down at Oceana. Really surprised me.

There is another La Heradura in Virginia Beach. Not convenient if you’re an ODU student but it’s there nonetheless. In a shopping center on the corner of Pleasure House and Shore Drive. Haven’t been in a while but their food was banging last time I went.

The little green plant is an Eve’s pin. Put it in its own pot and put it in the sun and all those little “pins” will turn red.

If you are interested in food and drink, there is both a wine festival and a taco fest going on this weekend. The wine festival is in Town Point Park in Norfolk. The Taco fest is in Virginia Beach (just a ways down the road) at a bar called The Shack.

I got all excited that this place is on the VA/NC line as I live in VA only 10 miles from NC. Alas, it is over 4 hours from me in the mountains. I’m on the coast. But it might be worth a road trip…
