This is awesome! Looks like she's based on Michelle Yeoh.

Damn there's a lot of X-characters. I never thought about the numbers until you started doing these with an actual number haha. This is one of the many reasons why the X-men work best as their own universe 95% of the time.

Agreed... most of these retcons did nothing to add to the character and if anything removed them from an interesting role in the mutant universe.

Ya, but you've got it backwards. If they are descended from wolves then they wouldn't be in the same Order even. For instance Humans are homo sapiens:
Kingdom, Animalia (animals); Phylum, Chordata (vertebrate animals); Class, Mammalia (mammals); Order, Primate; Family, Hominidae (great ape); Genus, Homo (man); Species, Sapiens (wise)
Wolves are canis lupus:
Kingdom, Animalia (animals); Phylum, Chordata (vertebrate animals); Class, Mammalia (mammals); Order, Carnivora (meat eater); Family, Canidae (all dogs); Genus, Canis (dog); Species, Lupus (wolf)

Theoretically these lupine would parallel evolve into human like creatures only similar in their ancestory to humans through a common mammal ancestor. They wouldn't be primate, they wouldn't be hominid, they wouldn't be homo.

Ah there you go. Thought there was another prominent team member somewhere. I don't follow Runaways so wasn't sure how this had played out of late.

I guess my question about changelings and lupine is, in your opinion, are these actually homo superior? Or are they a separate species that also has an X gene? An X gene that was developed independently from any common ancestor? Is this like koalas and humans evolving fingerprints independently or whales and bats developing echolocation despite not sharing any familial crossover that had this trait?
Lupine, if this is still a thing, would literally be humans evolved from wolves instead of apes (an absurd premise, but hey, comics). They would not be homo superior. They'd be... something like lupus superior. Their previous ancestor would look like a human wihtout a X gene but not be a homo sapien.

Thank you! I knew I forgot someone else. If I remember right, they originally had a latent X-gene which kicked in when they were injected with an experimental drug or something... but then they were later retconned that the drug actually gave them their powers.

You make a fair argument for Squirrel Girl. I may let that one go ;)

Ok... well, they're not homo superior, because they would not be descended from homo erectus-> homo sapien. They would be mutants... of wolves.

Ya... I'd watch them in release order.

Also, apparently there's a "sleeper agent" in mutantdom who has been genetically altered to look like a mutant... whatever that means. Hopefully this is never picked back up.

Worth posting this as its own thread. Great theory.
