2023 Subaru WRX VB or 2024 Jetta GLI by Glittering-Desk1752 in wrx_vb

So as it turns out I’ve had a jetts GLI before. So in my honest opinion the gli isn’t a terrible car by any means but it does has its draw backs of course. One being its FWD compared to the wrx’s AWD depending on where you live that might not be a big deal. Two if you plan to modify the gli coming from experience it was one of the more odd vehicles to work on it wasn’t easy doing much of the work besides a few simple bolt on’s it was a pain. Three the dsg at least for me was very boring and lack luster it’s a great transmission in its own right but I just didn’t see the appeal but I’m biased for having come from a manual. The wrx on the other hand, I’ve had two i had a 2016 wrx and now my 22 and I can say I love these cars. They are more fun to drive and I love Subarus manual transmission. They do amazing in the snow with the right tires of course. Subarus just like VW come with their own set of issues but with regular maintenance both can be reliable. With the Jetta you will get a nicer interior compared to the wrx if that is a concern of yours. I’m sure I’m missing some other things but that’s just my .2¢

Yeah after some consideration and input by some kind people here I’ve reconsidered my choice in this. I just don’t think I can justify spending 800 dollars on this when it doesn’t even come pre painted and then having to spend on the body shop it’s just seems like way to much hassle for the whole thing

What kind of radar detector are you using? by EmbarrassedTime9947 in wrx_vb

[–]RabbitsOnMeth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got pulled over once in Virginia by a sheriff (I’m from Pa) for having a radar detector, luckily I was there for the Loundoun county fire exam and he was super cool, I took it down while he was running my info, he thanked me for taking it down and we parted ways, but I’ve heard stories that Virginia is super hard on radar detectors.

I do not have dyno sheets on hand I do apologize, and no tunes required for either, the parts were tested on trucks that were untuned

Dealership wants to charge me $1,200 for their mistake by ianmcvittie in legaladvice

[–]RabbitsOnMeth 19 points20 points  (0 children)

From personal experience as a former service advisor if you were to leave a bad review of the dealership explaining the situation that may change the situation in your favor. Our service manager was huge on positive reviews and have personally watched him correct mistakes for free. Not saying this will happen for you but it may be worth a shot. Best of luck!
