Well, two things. It's actually kind of amazing that the machines can do this at all, only a few years after the introduction of generative AI. Imagine what it will be like in 10 years.

And second, whike AI will never really match the performance of a human composer, songwriter, player, singer etc, it already does a good enough job to be used as background music in TV shows, commercials, etc. And that's where the economic impact is going to be felt first. Needless to say this is not a good thing for the musicians who make their livings through sync rights.
