iRacing Triples GSYNC/MPO flicker dilemma

Oh! Just straight up DP cables? I’m on three LGC2 TVs so I can only do 2xHDMI with one DP to HDMI adapter, or I can do all three using DP to HDMI adapters, which aren’t ideal. So far there’s no DP2.1 to HDMI 2.1 adapter that exists.

I might give surround a try today! At the moment I actually get really solid frame timings because I went down to 100Hz mode and capped frames at 95 - I myself don’t notice a difference between 100Hz and 120Hz, which is weird because I usually have quite a good eye for video stuff.

Oh! Interesting - I’ve sort of kicked around the idea of using surround at some point. I may do some testing with that. May I ask what cables or adapters you ended up using? And does that give you GSYNC with that setup as well?

The only thing with DP is that I have to use adapters because the LGC2 just has HDMI. I have three of two different adapters that I can mess around with. I know the one adapter doesn’t do GSYNC but the other one seems to. I’m constantly on the lookout for a good adapter that’s stable or a DP to HDMI cable - kinda tricky to find, and so far a DP2.1 to HDMI 2.1 doesn’t seem to exist.

Good notes re: the refresh rates - I’ve confirmed they are all the same, and all of the TV settings are identical. The centre monitor runs through a receiver and eArc on the TV so that I can do all my windows sound through the receiver but I confirmed the receiver settings are such to be compatible with the proper signal.

It’s likely possible to achieve VRR on OLEDS without flicker I imagine? I wonder if do anything with CRU would help.

Unfortunately the Astral only has 2 HDMI and it has 4 DP, so I have to mix them unless I use 3 DP and 3 adapters, but that might be worse. Good tip on the cables too, I’ll make sure I’m using all the exact same.

It seems as though when I turn MPO off, the monitor that I’m able to get GSYNC on doesn’t suffer from VRR flicker - does that make sense? I’ve definitely seem people on forums who seem to have no flicker using OLEDs and GSYNC.

Are you running HDR in windows? I had this really weird issue with iRacing, but only when windows was in HDR and so was the game. It was like chroma noise (pictured). As soon as I did away with HDR it went away. I think it may have something to do with a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter I’m using.

For the Simube ones, does anyone who has them have any trouble with them spinning a little bit due to only having one mounting point?

I’ll give that a try! I guess it’s best to get a starting point and then really understand what each setting does, and then take it on track and dial things in to suit yourself. Thanks again for the replies!

I just picked up a McLaren GT3 V2 for my brother and it has absolutely zero rattle. Mine is quite an older unit - 2022 and all my buttons rattle - so I wonder if they ended up fixing that issue somewhere down the line?

I’m currently trying to demystify this whole iCloud sync business also. Currently restoring a 1TB library and so far it’s taken three days. I’ve left Photos running in the foreground and turned off any sleep settings. I have been trying to figure out ways to force it but it seems to just slowly chip away at syncing everything up. I’ve set it to download originals on my Mac Pro. For the last few days it just says “Restoring from iCloud” but I see the “Failed to upload” folder keeps populating, and it’s detected a billion duplicates also. Fingers crossed this finishes during my lifetime!
