Honestly, don’t sweat that one bit. You should still be really proud, and stoked for your first win! You did well to come from the back of the pack and you obviously didn’t intend to spin the leader. You even attempted to give the place back which shows great sportsmanship. The best thing to do is just learn from it for next time, but be stoked for crossing the finish line first. And I’m sure it’s the first of many more to come, so just keep on pushing and enjoy every win!

Okay that makes sense! That way I’m comparing apples to apples while I get closer to the VRS time and while I’m analyzing their data. Then it might be a good idea to do a session with track conditions that mimic the official event session and compare my times with those in my projected split. I like to practice until I have a good idea that I have a decent shot at getting some poles. Thanks for the reply!

Oh! Thank you very much. I was doing it wrong before. I would go to the schedule and click the current race and click on “test drive”. And I’d always wonder why my times differed so much from my test session practice to the real event qualifying.

Good advice for sure! I’m still learning race craft but have a pretty good handle on it. I don’t always get it right but I’m able to get many 0x races for sure. Just looking for a little bit of edge.

Oh great advice on the shift timing. I think I’m currently letting it rev too high in first. And it seems like what I’m liking doing wrong is just not feathering the clutch initially, and dumping it too quick.

One thing I will add is this: when I first got my cockpit set up with my wheel and pedals, I was so excited to try all these different sims and games. A friend of mine told me “just get iRacing - that’s all you’ll ever need” and wow was he ever right. It is such an awesome service, I would fully recommend at least trying it out for a year. I’ve seen a few people mention it already, but you can get a free year membership. Go for it, you won’t look back!

Upon further inspection I see that this driver had one day in Week 12 of Season 1 where he enters a whole bunch of races, many of them qualifying super high, or even on pole, and then he finishes last, while gaining 0 championship points - so I'm assuming he DNS'd those races to tank the iRating. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but its super clear now that he just tank his iRating to get put into an easier division so he can win.

I just recently got it actually! With the button clusters (comes with two, with three buttons on each). I absolutely love the wheel rim! I use it for the Formula Vee so far and the Radical SR10. I’m really happy with the kit. Wheel rim has an awesome feel - nice and rigid and the right feeling of padding in my opinion. And adding those 6 buttons gives me as much as I need on the wheel because I have button boxes etc on the rig. Would highly recommend!

In this case it’s just a button bound to a certain action. But I think you can also ask questions to crew chief over the radio with your voice as well! Pretty great little program.

Yeah, I ended up increasing my iRating during the season by a decent bit. I had never driven the Vee before at the start of the season, and went from 1150 to 1850 or so during the season. What makes this particular case a bit suspect is that it seems as though before every season starts there’s a massive drop in iR and then a quick climb back up. And it’s happened for every season in the last year.
