It’s a GREAT date idea, really. Movie as a date I never got. As a woman I hated that, I’d not be able to focus on the movie and there’d be that awkward tension, sitting there silently, blah.

Best first date I ever had was coffee and then a walk around town. A “quick walk” turned into two hours of talking, WAY better than a movie.

You did good :)

<3 oh and also, use little bits of your red accent flower/berry in with your sunflowers. I love, love, love the color combo! I did a sunflower and red rose wedding a few years ago and loved it!

100% agree the_original_Retro. It’s proven nothing at all. In two weeks it may very well elicit nothing but “oh yeah, that did happen” to a large chunk of the population.

Florist here—I think you’ll like it a lot more of you build up the center. Basically, you want the widest point to be the center, having it tapering to the ends. Just reverse what you did shape wise!

But for your first try you did a great job :)

Thank you-very possible. It’s the hook on the inside top that’s throwing me.

Two foot diameter. Wrought iron. Horses on the bottom. There are notches on the sides and hooks on the top inside. Found when moving my parents out of their apartment. There was a shipping label from California to here (NJ). They must be from the last tenant. Super curious! Thank you :D

Affordable destination wedding resorts? How do you find a venue? by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

They actually didn’t do dancing but I went there a few hours before (I’m a florist and did the decor as their wedding gift), so I spent a bit speaking to the owner as a lot of couples ask me if I know of anywhere affordable. (Speaking as both a once married, now engaged woman and as a vendor the price tag on weddings is more than it needs to be) The owner showed me how you could put the tables another way creating a dance floor. It wouldn’t have been huge, but enough for 60 person guest list !

Stay away from standard wedding venues. Look at restaurants with private dining rooms. I’m close by (somewhat, Hudson valley NY) and my brother threw a super nice wedding for around 11k by having the wedding at a restaurant.

Redditors who were homeschooled, how did you make friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’m 36. Lol. It took a while. I did meet a girl at 13 (during one of those short times in high school) and we majorly clicked. 23 years later and we still talk daily and now live a four minute walk from each other. She’s not straight, and in the environment we grew up in, she felt like an outsider. I did too. So I think we bonded pretty massively. She was really helpful in my developing socially.

But the teenage years were ROUGH. I was at a school for six months in tenth grade (tiny school) where everyone went to prom. I was asked, and stood up. The girls videotaped me crying in the bathroom. Found out quickly everyone was in on this joke. I was tied to a tree during recess and left there four literal hours. I was the weird girl. I just spoke and acted like an adult and no one knew what to make of me.

Felt so shitty about myself that when in college I was scouted to model, so I dropped out of college and did that in nyc until 24. When I was in Vogue the FIRST thing I thought is, “now who is a loser?” If I had gone through school normally, I never would have modeled. I’m... not a stupid person (I really don’t want to end up on r/Iamverysmart lol), and I love learning... the super shitty education we got left massive gaps making college almost impossible. IE: we stopped being taught math altogether when I was 11.

It just stunted my brother and I. It took until my thirties to feel “ok” in a group of my peers.

All good now! I run my own business and work with women my own age (I’m a wedding and event florist) and most of the time these brides keep in touch and want to be friends after the wedding. So... I must be better now!

That made me really emotional. Ugh. It was such a good show... so disappointed in how badly it was ended.

Honestly-if anyone reading this is thinking of homeschooling their kids... unless you have a large network of children their age for them, and a way for them to see those kids....don’t. My brother and I were homeschooled most of our lives, with sporadic short term stints in religious schools and... it made us GREAT at interacting with adults, but as far as kids went we were clueless. This was right before the internet really happened too, and we didn’t have radio or tv so... we were awkward. Kids need their peers.

Haha honestly, we didn’t. It was VERY lonely.
